(1: To be honest, I don’t normally name my pets after famous people. Maybe I should someday…) (2: I can only think of one time when I named my pet after the Webkinz name. I named my Fennec Fox, ‘Fennica’ =] ) (3: Ah, there are so many examples of when I used silly and unique names! For example, the very first Webkinz I got, the Alley Cat, I named ‘Dolay’. Honestly I have no idea why. XD)

      • LuckyTheBeagle says:

(4: Same with this one! I named my Whooo La La Owl ‘Otulissa’, after the character from “Guardians of Ga’Hoole”. <— (My favorite book series!) I also named my Grey Owls 'Twilight' and 'Ezylryb' (Also from Guardians of Ga'Hoole).) (5:

(5: Getting name suggestions from others is a splendid idea! There are lots of people that have creative and unique name suggestions! :) I wasn’t really sure about what to name my Pink Googles, until my mom suggested the name ‘Penelope’. I was going to name it ‘Go-Go’ after the arcade game “Go-Go Googles”, but afterwards, I thought she looked more like a ‘Penelope’. :) )

      THAnk you!

This is not meant to offend anyone, but I personally do not like it when people name Webkinz something that is part of the pet type i.e. Oatmeal the Oatmeal Pup. I just think that people can be more creative than that when naming a pet. Naming Webkinz after food is what I do a LOT. I have… let me count really quick… 19 Webkinz that are named after foods, drinks, and food/drink companies (by that I mean I have a white terrier named Sprite, a brown dog named Nutella, and an Orange Soda Pup named Fanta), 20 if you count Catnip, my 10 Year Magic W Cat. I just believe that when naming a Webkinz, you need to be creative.

By the way, Jared Kinz, naming Webkinz after, well, I don’t know if I’m aloud to say this on here, so I’m just gonna say like your Splash Dragon, that show, is a great idea! I have a fennec fox plush (not a Webkinz, my Webkinz fennec fox plush is named Bat Ears) that I named Eevee :)

      • Jaredkinz says:

        Eevee? So cute!

Hi there, EmilyCuteHeart! It’s okay, you were not offense! Although, personally, when people name their webkinz something that has to do with the name of the pet species, it doesn’t really bother me, since I can relate. I try to name my webkinz something original if possible, though when you have as many webkinz as me, it can be hard to do sometimes. For example, a few years ago, I got a finer bunny on my birthday, and I honestly couldn’t think of any other name for her besides “Ginger.” Though, in my opinion, the name did seem to really fit her, so I’m not unhappy with it. Most of my “less creative” pet names were from when I was younger and had a harder time coming up with good names. Nowadays, since I have webkinz newz and I’m better at growing the Internet, I can always ask for name suggestions on here or search up the web for some good ones. Sometimes people may name their pets something “not very creative” because they’re younger players, just can’t find a better name, or just think it’s fitting, and that is something I can persoanlly relate to. However, that is just my two-cents, everyone is different! :)

Hey Jared Kinz, that was a great video; you are so right, the struggle is real for naming your Webkinz… I can’t tell you how many times I’ve fussed with the naming stage. You have some really good ideas in this; this should make things a lot easier for me now! I do kinda have another suggestion for this. What I do sometimes (and this is really just relating back to unique names) is, I take just a normal name that I like and I just change the spelling to make it look really cool! Or, I’ll just make up a name. I ask my parents what they think about the name too. Except for one time when I named my Reindeer, Rozanna as apposed to Rosanna with the “s” (and this pet was named after the daughter of my fav signer!) and my mom and dad didn’t know until they saw her certificate… Anyway, great video, I love it!

  5. TaffyKitty12 says:

Great video, Jared Kinz!! :D Congrats on having it featured! I struggle a lot with webkinz names, and when I can’t find a good one, I normally either 1) ask someone for suggestions. 2) Look up some names online. or 3) name my pet after a character (which happens a lot)

  6. Joy_Webkinz says:

    1. I love taking famous people or even cartoon characters’ names and tweaking them for my pet! i.e. my moose, Benjamoose Franklin. Way back when I adopted my very first Webkinz, a Clown Fish, I settled on “Nemo”. She’s a girl, but what would you expect from a 4-year-old! My brother also has a wombat named JP Morgan II, which I find hilarious. It’s so fun to use famous people’s names for Webkinz! 2. When I was little, I named my Gecko . . . wait for it . . . GECKY. I didn’t really know what a gecko WAS then, but oh well. :D 3. “Sir Hops a Lot”, anyone? XD I’m so proud of that name, though. 4. I just named my Countryside Hedgehog “Blossomfall”, a character in the CRAZY AMAZING YOU HAVE MY HEART book series WARRIORS. Sorry, I’m a bit crazy for those books, which I suppose is why I named a Webkinz after one of the characters! XD 5. Once I was so indecisive, I walked around the house asking my parents and siblings what I should name my new ‘Kinz. We eventually settled on “Dot” for my Pom Pom Dino. Anyway, sorry to bore you with all these names! THANK YOU, Jared Kinz for your wonderful video! These tips are quite helpful. I like the Cool Music at the end, too. ;D

    • TaffyKitty12 says:

Oh my gosh, you read Warriors, too, Joy_Webkinz?!?! Ah, it’s so cool to see a fellow Warriors fan!! :D It’s my favorite book series! (And don’t worry, I’m crazy for Warriors as well XD ) I actually have a lot of webkinz named after Warriors characters (and oh my gosh, Blossomfall is an awesome name for your hedgehog!) Actually, if you don’t mind, I’ll list them all here: Feathertail the cat, Graypool the Himalayan cat, Sandstorm the sweet spice cat, Ravenpaw the signature tuxedo cat, Firestar the signature orange tabby, Leopardstar the signature ocelot, Ivypool the Persian cat, Yellowfang the signature Persian cat, Snowfur, my other regular Persian cat, Jagged Peak the Lynx, Tall Shadow the signature snow leopard, Spottedleaf the signature Siamese cat, Tigerheart the sabertooth tiger, Bluestar the snow soft kitty, Graystripe the cuddle cat, Brambleclaw the Bengal tiger, Dovewing the pretty kitty…

      • TaffyKitty12 says:

… Lionheart the rockerz lion, Whitestorm the white lion, Swiftpaw the leopard cub, Fallen Leaves the Signature Cougar, Cinderpelt the gray and white cat, Ferncloud the black and white cat, Icecloud the icy mist leopard, Goldenflower the lioness, Tallstar the regular tuxedo cat, Brambleberry the domino cat, Silverstream the signature gray tabby, Frostfur the rockerz cat,

        • TaffyKitty12 says:

… and… that’s it for now. Oh my gosh, I actually didn’t realize that I had so many pets named after the characters, heheh. (Also, I’m sorry I had to list them all here, I guess I was just so excited to see a fellow warriors fan who also names their webkinz after warrior cats (and I just realized that I accidentally said hedgehog unseats of “countryside hedgehog” in my first comment, sorry about that!)

          • MockingbirdInc says:

Yessssss Warriors. XD My sister named her Gray Cat “Graystripe.” I, however, have yet to name a Webkinz after a Warrior Cat. :P

    • MyLittlePony2010EG13 says:

OH MY GOSH! WOW!!!!!!! How about “Moochelle” or “Moooonolisa”? I love to read Warriors!!!!!!! That book is soo awesome!!!!

My signature yorkie is named Wellington.

  9. griffoned says:

These are great tips… just not for me. Numbers 1 and 4 break my rules unless the connection is very, very vague. (Like potentially naming a warthog Phineas). Number two is too obvious. Number three needs more thought. Number five isn’t personal enough. I used to be so lenient with myself when I started playing.

    • Jaredkinz says:

Sorry if it isn’t for you.

      • griffoned says:

No problem. The thing I usually look for now in names is meaning. The one that I don’t have too much of a problem with is number four, because it can work if the connection is vague. I don’t mind naming my pet after a place, but I typically avoid “loaded names”. I bet nobody will understand the connection to my future warthog and the name Phineas.

  10. Spiderhulkman says:

I’ve named pets after people, characters, and foods. All my Googles have names that start with ‘P’ (Pat, Patty, Petunia, Peony, Peter, Percy). I have also named some in different languages and after things related to the animals. For example, my reindeer are named Aurora and Borealis since they are found in areas near this amazing natural beauty. I think whatever you name your pet is a great name as long as it’s a name that fits your personal style and the pets personality.
