Ms. Stripes’ Halloween Party
Sparky (or should I say Spooky?) here. So today was our class Halloween party and guess what? It wasn’t even lame! In fact, not only was it not lame – it was actually pretty awesome! Now, don’t get me wrong – it did start out pretty badly. I mean, who has a Halloween party with no candy, no costumes and no scary decorations? And it was obvious to everybody pretty early on that the party was basically no fun at all. I think even Ms. Stripes knew it wasn’t going well because when Roberta suggested that maybe things would pick up a bit if we put up some of those decorations we had made, Ms. Stripes said that was a great idea. Once we put up the decorations everyone seemed to get into the spirit a bit more. When things started to liven up, Ms. Stripes said maybe she had been a bit too hasty when she said we couldn’t wear costumes. Summer is HERE!
Sparky here with some exciting, amazing, outstanding, fabulous, AWESOME news – school is out for summer! I can’t believe how HAPPY that makes me! I mean, I know that I’m going to be working at the Curio Shop for most of the summer…and I know my friends won’t all be in town…but know what? That’s OK! Because I won’t be at school! I can sleep in (a little bit) and watch TV (an hour a day at least!) and I won’t have any assignments or homework or anything like that! Tell me, friends, what is your favorite thing about the summer holidays?
Planning Polly’s Party
So I was meeting with the ‘Kinz today and I told them all that Polly’s birthday was on the 28th and they were just as excited as I was! They all want to help me plan her party! I didn’t mention that Polly said that she didn’t want a party, because really, who doesn’t want a party? So all the ‘Kinz said that they would help me with the party! Stoogles says he is going to choose the tunes for the party and Roberta said she would craft the invitations and some decorations. Cowabelle and Sparky are going to make the cake and Alex said that he will help Roberta put the decorations up. I am going to get cooking and make loads of food for the party. This is going to be so much fun. Polly will be so thrilled!
Purr-Cilla’s Awesome Party
Dear Diary, Guess what? Remember how I figured my birthday was over and the party wasn’t going to happen? Well, surprise! Penelope and Janice saved the day. After I told them to forget about the party, they went to the park and started rounding up the kids. They told them about all the fun stuff I had planned, and told them that they could bring any friends they wanted to my house. And they did! SO many kids started arriving. I couldn’t believe it! And even though none of them had a gift for me, I didn’t even care. I just wanted guests. And then guess who showed up? The ‘Kinz. PLUS Salley Cat. And you know what? She brought salsa. And it was actually really good. We all played games and ate TONS of ice cream and pizza and just had an all-around great time. So what have I learned? Not to be so hard on everyone. And not to exclude kids to make other kids feel jealous. And that a party is WAY more fun if you’ve actually got guests. Now it really is a happy birthday to me! -Purr-Cilla
Purr-Cilla’s Worst Day
Dear Diary, You’ll never believe what happened today! My birthday party, the one that was supposed to be THE party of the year? Yeah. Not so much. All the kids from my school decided NOT to show up. Why? I think it’s because they’re jealous. Or maybe because Salley Cat turned them all against me. Sigh. Actually, the real reason is probably that they think I’m mean. And sometimes? I guess I probably am. But it’s not my fault! I just happen to be cooler than most of the kids in my school, and it’s hard to make friends with kids who are so…so…UN-cool. So the only two kids who showed up at my party were Penelope and Janice. My besties. And can you imagine how embarrassed I was when no one else was there? Can you imagine? I told them that I didn’t even care. I said the party was canceled. I heard them leave a few minutes ago, so I guess it’s really over. The birthday that never happened. Purr-Cilla: Getting Prepared for the Party!
Dear Diary, I am super-stoked! Tomorrow is my birthday party – you know, the one that’s going to put all other parties to shame? That one! It’s SO exciting – knowing my friends are all going to be there, happy for me and bringing presents. Ooh, it’s going to be amazing! Now, there’s only one tiny thing…I heard through the grapevine that Sparky might not be able to make it. That’s less than awesome, but I’m hoping it’s just a rumor. After all, I don’t want his FRIENDS showing up if he doesn’t come. Ugh. If everyone I gave an invitation to comes, I should have a couple hundred kids at my party – which should be AMAZING! The trampoline has arrived, along with the juice bar, the ice cream truck and the loot bags I’ll be giving out (each one has a rare item in it! Beat that, other kids!). Dear Diary, I cannot WAIT for my party! You’ll never believe it, but Sparky is actually coming! Of course, he’s bringing his pesky friends with him, but only the three I invited. The other four (Nibbles, Alex, Roberta and that awful Salley Cat) are SO mad. I saw them at recess and they weren’t even speaking to each other! I may have successfully divided the ‘Kinz! HA! I haven’t really heard if many of the other kids are coming. I know Janice and Penelope will be there, and I’m sure that most of the kids I gave invitations to will show up. I mean, please – it’s my party, why would anyone miss it? I’ve got to go and pick out some earrings – mom said she’ll take me to the jewelry store and we can get whatever pair I want! Millie’s Birthday Party
Mom and I sat down together today and talked about Millie’s upcoming birthday party. Millie is SUPER excited and has a ton of ideas. She handed me a list yesterday. This is what it said: Millie’s Birthday Ideas 1. Join the circus 2. Visit the jungle 3. Go underwater 4. Princess ballerina 5. Do a treasure hunt 6. Be in a magic show Some of these ideas are, how shall I put it? Ridiculous! I tried explaining to Millie that we can’t go to the jungle for her birthday. We also can’t have a party underwater. She wasn’t too pleased to hear that, but Mom agreed. Mom said that she and I would talk about Millie’s list and figure out something that WOULD work. Millie stomped off and slammed the door to her room. After a long discussion, Mom and I decided that we’d do a princess treasure hunt birthday party. We’d have the guests dress up like princesses, and then tell them to hunt for their treasure (which would be hidden all over the house and yard). Oh, this day is NOT going well. I realized that I was going to have to try and put a leash on this monster of a party that Stoogles had set loose upon the world. I knew I’d have to be really diplomatic so I just went around and explained to everybody that had mentioned the party yesterday that I was just having a small get together with a few close girlfriends and that, while I would love to include them, it just wouldn’t work with my mom being out of the house and all. Maybe that was not the way to go. When I told Laurabeard, she looked really hurt and said that she thought she WAS one of my close girlfriends. How awkward was that? Then Sparky asked me if I thought girls were better than boys. Of course I don’t think that but when I told him that was a stupid question he said that now I was calling him stupid! What? Submitted by: Chr with Jules What you need: Black table cloth Glass jars Candy Chocolates Figure cut outs Black take out containers Sliver boxes Blue & black tissue Cookies What you do: 1. Place black table cloth over table. 2. Put all your favorite candy in glass jars and arrange on table. 3. Place black take out containers in the middle of table. 4. Crafty Critterz: Webkinz Party Dance Floor
Submitted by: hot with Lilly What you need: Thin cardboard White paper Markers Stickers Stamps Glue What you do: 1. Have an adult assist with cutting a piece of cardboard into a perfect square. Big enough for your pet to dance on. 2. Cut a sheet of white paper the same shape and glue it on. 3. Attach another small piece of cardboard to one side, and draw a screen in which arrows are going up the screen. 4. Draw four arrows on the dance floor, each pointing outwards on a corner, and draw a square in the middle of the floor. 5.
