Yep! It was recently changed that you don’t have to inherit default traits. This has opened up the trait pools for that trait instead of the specific one. For example, if you spark with a Legendary Dragon, it won’t necessarily pass on the default color wings and you may end up with a different color. This change was made because many of the newer pets have very specific default traits that aren’t inheritable and the end result would be pets that inherit no traits at all from the secondary pet, which wouldn’t be very fun at all.

Hey, Sally – I’ve been meaning to ask if Spark genetics have changed.

Take a rabbit x sloth spark and imagine that a sloth is generated. Previously, it was my understanding that the sloth baby would inherit two traits DIRECTLY from the non-species parent; in this case, the rabbit. By directly, I mean traits that the rabbit parent had itself.

Lately, I’ve noticed instead that the sloth could inherit ANY two rabbit traits, even ones that were not directly present in the rabbit parent’s own traits. For example, a rabbit parent that had the Speedy Back Patch trait passed down the Carrot Back Patch trait, even though the parent did not themselves have this trait.

Is this indicative of new Spark genetics? I hope you understand what I’m getting at and are able to answer.

So if these people whose pets you’ve shown don’t have another new pet to adopt they don’t get the prize? Seems unfair :(

I would love to adopt a plush pet, but I can’t one over here, which makes me sad. Plus, I have to stay up until 3am tonight in order to do Balloon Dartz because nobody cares to fix the problem with the time zones!

Wow. That’s a lot of explaining you had to do. I am so glad that my accounts are linked and I don’t have to think about all of the stuff that you mentioned. Good luck to all those who do! These new babies are the bomb! I’m really loving the intricate patterns on the Chihuahuas this week. I am glad that you pointed out the “W” on the first one, as I was only seeing “Mr. T” style blingy gold chains. LOL! The green Chihuahua looks like they are elegantly prepared for Dia de los Muertos. I don’t have a Chihuahua yet, but I may have to get one now! Congrats to all of the featured new Next parents!

Thank you for offering 2 spark drinks! 1 would have been super cool, 2 is beyond amazing!! I’m giving both my dragons a drink. Finally, I shall have my baby dragon! Unless I spark a redemption pet LOL
