I think they meant for the whole blender, the blender I have is 50 ounces, which is the normal blender size. That’s like 6 1/4 a cup, so 1/2 a cup of sugar would make it sweet but not to sweet.

Stevia: According to my package of stevia – 1 cup stevia == 2 cups regular cane sugar. So in this recipe – 1/2 cup sugar == 1/4 cup stevia. However, sometimes stevia requires a tiny bit of natural sugar to work correctly in a recipe. So if you choose to make this recipe I would use between 1/4-1/2 cup stevia with 1-2 tsp cane sugar depending on your taste preference. Diet version of this recipe with no added sugar – you could probably use your favorite water bottle flavoring and just crush ice into it. :)

Thanks for inspiring me to make some smoothies and stuff to help beat the heat wave that we are currently having! My family used to make smoothies with ice cream, milk and a banana all the time. If we had strawberries, we would throw them in too. Family members who liked something different would throw that in theirs (like peanut butter!) I wonder why we stopped doing that. I’ll have to bring it up this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration to end our perspiration! LOL XD

You could substitute stevia for the sugar. I’m not sure what the amount would be but a little goes along way.
