I adopted mine on the first day it came out, I’ve been wanting this one for a long time. I named him Jasper after my real dog.

This is…incredible! I don’t know what to say! Oh, no, now I don’t know what to name him or her.

I asked my significant other for ideas, and even for someone who is bad at coming up with names, he came up with a really bad idea. It wouldn’t be a big deal, except I don’t have anyone else I can ask for advice. He’s the only one who even knows I play Webkinz because I’m too embarrassed to let my parents find out. I really should avoid going into detail but I’m going to put this:……………. Yeah [my significant other's name], it’s true that I really like naming virtual creatures such as Webkinz, Pokemon, and Harvest Moon farm animals after fictional characters, but did you really have to suggest somebody with a personality that makes my skin crawl? And whether or not the guy is a good character or a good person, he is definitely dangerous, unsettling, and it would be just plain insulting of me to put that moniker on an innocent English Cream Retriever. Even a virtual one. Not to mention, the character is Japanese and this dog is English. That went on a lot longer than it was supposed to. So yeah, I got a little mad at my significant other for suggesting that. I think I might have overreacted except it was the second time that night (last night) that I asked him for help, and he gave a silly, 0 effort answer that wasted my time. That venting I just did actually felt really good.

Let’s see, what English/British characters do I know of? The only groups that come to mind are everyone in Harry Potter, and Pokemon Sword and Shield. And nobody really stands out from those groups…there’s Luna Lovegood, whose hair is white blonde like the dog, but it seems weird to call the dog Luna when there are so many moon themed pets on Webkinz. Gloria, the heroine of Sword/Shield, is a real cutie but I’m pretty sure a gloria is a type of flower and that seems kind of odd when the ECRetriever has a rose pond for a PSI. I guess I could always go with a dog in real life who has a nice name…but I don’t know any English Cream Retrievers. I only have ever met Golden Retrievers. Darn.

Hi ArcanineEspeon! Congratulations!! For names for your new webbie family member you could try Gwendolyn, Rowena, Finley, or Sherlock, all of which mean fair haired and are British names. Some top British names are Oliver, Olivia, Alfie, Theo, Max, Teddy, Louie, Mason, Toby, Riley, Sophia, Grace, Lily, Emily, Rosie, Evie, Poppy, Charlotte, Willow, and Phoebe. Good luck with your name choice and enjoy your new English Cream Retriever!

That’s so kind of you helping me like that, Beckinz8! My top pics before I read your comment were Scout (a Golden Retriever I once knew), Gloria, and Rosa (another Pokemon heroine who would match great with my Hilda the B&W Springer) and now thanks to you I’m also highly considering Gwendolyn, Rosie, and Poppy (the name of two dogs I really like, including Scout’s successor, a dog I just saw last Saturday).

I named my English Sheepdog “Warwick”, after a city in England. Just a suggestion (naming your new pet after a city/town in England :)

I settled on Gwendolyn! You’re a dream! The only problem is, I planned to give her the more traditional spelling Gwendolen, but I got distracted an spelled it with a Y instead :( But aside from that, this community is so dang nice an helpful I can hardly believe it! It’s good to be back!
