@ Emster7 Elinchick has great advice. To clear gems- Click on groups of 3 or more gems touching either vertically or horizontally (diagonal doesn’t count). those will disappear and the ones above will drop down. Sand blocks will crack or go away when you click a group of gems touching them. Sometimes it takes more than one group of gems to get rid of the sand blocks completely, but you will see them vanish and then gems can fall down. Some levels have a spiral “Key” block that you need to clear a water path to before you can exit the level.

Hi! empster7 I made it all way through Grand Grotto 1 time, but took awhile. Think it depends on possibilities on how board lines up. Study the combos, but does not always work with number of moves given. Not very far on my second time.

I am so stuck on Grand Grotto. i wish there were better instructions somewhere. I can’t really figure out the rules!

Hi emster7. What level are you stuck on? I’d be happy to help if I can.

Absolutely agree! If the game could just be clearly explained, I may actually like it. There are times when I expect a level to clear when it doesn’t and other times when a level clears and I have no idea how it happened. It is hard to strategize when I have no idea what is going on! LOL!

Okay, really generally, let me see if I can give you some ideas. (By the way, I apologize in advance if any of this is too obvious.) After Level 1, there are three screens per level and you have to either get the specified amount of treasure, free the required number of fish, etc. On the top bar in the center it tells you how many moves you have for the level. To the left of the number of moves is the goal of the level and to the right is your progress. On the first screen you get 10 points per gem, the second screen gives you 20 points per gem, and the third level gives you 30 points per gem. On the bottom of the first two screens there are arrows which tell you where the opening is for the water to flow down. You have to clear the gems from the opening to allow the water to go down and move to the next screen. You don’t have to go through all the screens if you complete the goal for the level before you get to the third screen. As you move through the levels there will be bombs to clear all of one color, missiles to clear a row, giant gems worth a ton of points, locks that you have to clear, etc. (that’s all I can remember off the top of my head). I hope these tips help.
