I believe the “some” is to denote the fact that whatever the thing in question is is “full” of awe. The suffix is also used in other words, such as cumbersome (full of “cumber”, or hindrances), and the lesser-known wondersome (full of wonder). Hope this helped clear things up!

I really think that things like the snowdrift hideaway were actually rooms for your pet. So instead of having one room for each pet, you can have a room with lots of bedrooms in it!
