I play against the hosts and this is my strategy: I make sure my boats are placed far apart and I avoid the edges. I start from the top corner and target the next diagonal spot until I hit something or one of my power ups are available. Then I’ll find a spot to use the big guns to catch as large an area as I can. When I hit one, I continue until it’s sunk. When I have no ships to work on, I’ll start targeting alternating spots — no ship is less than 2, so if you alternate spots you can cover more ground more quickly.The hosts don’t use the power ups, so as long as you don’t bunch your ships together, it’s usually pretty easy to beat them.

I don’t like this at all either — I have never, ever gotten near to winning or even understanding HOW to strategize to win.

I enjoy the word games, and some of the Solitaire games. Am not good at the others so don’t really enjoy them. But, for some unknown reason, I love this game of the Pirate ships! Ha. So, I will be trying for this challenge. Good luck to all, including me!

Can’t wait to start this challenge. I don’t mind it at all. I have wanted a Jolly Roger Captain’s Chair for so long. It would be great to have another challenge for the Jolly Roger Bed, which I have also wanted for quite a while. Hint Hint

For those of you who have problems winning against the hosts, I am willing to help. My UN is percaroam. I will ‘target’ yours by showing you where mine are. In other words, if you hit the same spot I ‘attacked’ you will find one of mine. Also, when playing against hosts – don’t forget you can earn special shots that will hit multiple targets in one volley. The hosts don’t use these special shots.
