We used to have one, also, every Friday at the end of the day until dismissal time. After there were only about 10 people left, the teacher would pass out Hershey Kisses to the remaining contenders. I love those, so I was always there till the end. I used to come home with a pocketful. Due to time constraints, we didn’t always wind down to just one winner. But, no one cared because those that remained all had Hershey Kisses! YUM!!!

We had a spelling bee every Friday afternoon. You participated in your own grade from 1 + 7. I won every week except 1. It was fun and exciting but I don’t think I have the courage to participate now. Maybe I should try.
