		<description>RED VELVET CAKE

½ CUP BUTTER
1 ½ SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 CUP BUTTER MILK
2 1/4 CUP SIFTED FLOUR
½ TEASPOON SALT
2 TABLESPOONS HERSHEY’S COCOA
2 oz. RED FOOD COLORING
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
1 TEASPOON VINEGAR   
                         
BAKE AT 350o

CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR.
THEN ADD ONE EGG AT A TIME.
ADD FLOUR ALTERNATING WITH BUTTER MILK 
MIX WELL ADD COCOA.  MIX WELL ADD SALT.  ADD FOOD COLORING
BLEND.  ADD VANILLA.  MIX WELL. SPRINKLE BAKING SODA OVER THE BATTER.
THEN POUR VINEGAR OVER BAKING SODA AND MIX WITH A WOODEN SPOON. 
BAKE IN THREE NINE INCH PANS AT 350o FOR 25 TO 35 MINUTES 
LET IT COOL   

FROSTING
3 TABLESPOON FLOUR  
1 CUP FRESH MILK
COOK UNTIL IT FORMS A THICK PASTE. SET ASIDE TO COOL

1 CUP BUTTER 
1 CUP SUGAR
CREAM UNTIL NICE AND SMOOTH. 

ADD COOLED FLOUR PASTE AND BEAT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES.  ADD 1 TEASPOON VANILLA.  MIX WELL.  SPREAD BETWEEN LAYERS. SPRINKLE WITH PECANS

Red Velvet Cupcakes

 What you need:

2 ½ cups flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
½ cup milk
1 (1 ounce) bottle Red Food Coloring
2 teaspoons Vanilla 
Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
¼ cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1 (16 ounce) box icing sugar
 Red Sprinkles
Paper cupcake liners

What you do:
Have your adult assistant preheat the oven to 350°. Line two muffin pans with 30 paper cupcake liners.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter until well mixed. Add eggs one at a time. Add sour cream, milk, food coloring and vanilla. Slowly add in the flour mixture and beat until just mixed. Divide batter between 30 cupcake liners, filling to about 2/3 full.

Bake for 20 – 25 minutes. Allow to cool completely before frosting.  
Frosting: Combine cream, butter, sour cream and vanilla. Mix well. Slowly add icing sugar to mixture and beat until smooth.  Frost cupcakes and add a dusting of red sprinkles to each.</description>
