Webkinz has always been a pay-to-play game. Actually, by adding this they have made it LESS so since accounts don’t ‘expire’ and disappear after 1 year. We used to have it that you were either a Full Member, or you could not play at all. I’d much rather have a Free Account than not be able to play Webkinz at all! Also Deluxe made a way so that you could access places like the Magical Forest, without having to buy figures, etc. So it saves money. Webkinz has become bigger and better because of Deluxe Memberships, not worse.

I have 124 pets, none in the last few years, but I guess that’s not good enough to be a “regular player”

They did this so you couldn’t give your free account free deluxe items

While I can see why this is annoying, the reason for this is to prevent duplicate rare items. For example, let’s say I want something else from a code I found. This system prevents me from making a new account and just getting unlimited amounts of items. Though I do agree that maybe it can be altered to make an age limit on the account (maybe 3 months or older then free accounts can send things?).

Not really. If you actually want to play the game, you are going to have to go and waste 12 dollars on a 1 year full membership. Good luck!! :) <3
