The loon is a duck-like animal that is on our dollar coin. That's why we call it a loonie. It is NOT that cold where most Canadians live. You will only find polar bears and caribou in Northern Canada, like in the Territories. And just to tell you, there's a place in Canada that's lower than parts of the USA. Warmer than NY.
