It’s so funny that I was watching the Great British Baking Show and they had to use marzipan and I was like, what even is marzipan? I don’t think I’ve ever had it before. (I know what it is now lol!) Apparently some people don’t like it. The candies on this tree look like lemon drops to me, lol

Exactly, it basically IS edible playdoh made of almond paste. Same with fondant- you can make amazing cakes and other decorations with it, but the taste is bland and unpleasant to actually eat.

I agree. I had some beautifully sculpted cherries I got- and they tasted like a light vanilla almond flavor playdoh. I was puzzled for sure.
