It does have HM705 on both tags, and the plush looks like the plush in the picture. I also have the original German Shepherd to compare the two. Thank you for checking! I completely forgot about the model number (is that what the “HM___” is called?).

If the tush tag doesn’t have HM705, it’s not an American German Shepherd. If it’s HM146, it’s a regular German Shepherd

I’ve wanted to get this pet for a while since I had a perfect name for him, but I hadn’t found him in my town and finally decided that I would have to order him from the eStore. However, I found him today at Tuesday Morning!!!! Strangely enough, his blue and back tags say “German Shepherd” without the “American” part. I’m going to name him James Reed after the younger police officer in the TV show Adam-12. And, for the fun of it, I got another plush pet, and I’m going to name him Michael after Michael Webkinz since the American German Shepherd is his avatar. :D
