Maybe she was making stuff to give to people for Christmas, this is a busy time of year and he is probably reading something in it that isn’t there. Saying she doesn’t feel like it is so vague but it could be she has some sort of surprise for him and doesn’t want to let it out of the bag. Maybe his family invited her family along???
