AD POLICY

Ganz is committed to being highly responsible in our approach to advertising and the advertisers we allow on this and other Ganz Websites (collectively and individually, the “Website”).  Although Ganz may adapt the Ad Policy from time to time, our current approach to advertising may be summed up as follows:

-    Advertisers must represent quality, family-friendly products and services;
-    Prizes that can be won from advertising initiatives will not be branded within the Website;
-    We offer active Webkinz World users an easy-to-activate option of not viewing third party ads.

Ganz may allow other companies, called ad networks, to serve advertisements on the Website. Ad networks include third party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors and research firms.  Such third parties advertising on the Website may use cookies and web beacons while serving ads to you:

(a)    Web beacons may be used to do analytics and research.  In particular, web beacons are electronic files that allow a website to count users who have visited that page or to access certain cookies;
(b)    A cookie is a small amount of data that may be stored on the hard drive within your browser.  Cookies may be used to “identify” a web browser and manage the ad serving process.

You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.  If Adobe Flash Cookies are used (when the served content contains video clips or animation, for example), you may need to access your Flash management tools from the Adobe website (www.adobe.com) directly. If you reject all cookies, you may not be able to take full advantage of all offerings, including products or services that require you to "sign in" to use.

All advertising content served on the Website must be approved by Ganz before appearing on it.  At the same time, Ganz reserves the right to unilaterally omit or cancel, following publication, those ads that violate our advertising standards outlined in this policy.

Furthermore, we have given active Webkinz World members an easy-to-activate option of not viewing third party ads within that Website.  To opt out, parents should visit the “Account Controls” section of the Parent’s Area and turn off the ads.  This blocks third party ads within the Website.  Please note that the option is not available to Free and Alumni Webkinz users but they may still be able to opt out of third party cookies by following the steps outlined by your web browser provider.  If, after users have selected to limit 3rd party ads, they clear their computer’s cache and/or cookies, or access webkinz.com from another computer, they will need to limit 3rd party ads again in order to prevent 3rd party ads from appearing on the home, login, and logout pages, as well as pages that follow the logout page. If users do not select to limit 3rd party ads again, 3rd party ad campaigns within webkinz.com will still be limited.

Third party use of cookies and web beacons is subject to their own privacy policies.  Our Privacy Policy describes how we treat personal information.  In particular, Ganz does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a third party ad on the Website.

Contests, sweepstakes and giveaways hosted on the Website may be sponsored or co-sponsored by Ganz, or may be sponsored by companies other than Ganz.  Third parties that host such promotions may collect and use your information in accordance with their own privacy policies.  We strongly recommend that you review their privacy policy before disclosing any personally identifiable information on the promotion registration form.

Information about your visits to this and other sites may be used over time to help predict your interest and select the ads you see.  Visit the Network Advertising Initiative (http://networkadvertising.org) to get more information on the choices you have about not having any information gathered about you online used to serve ads to your browser.
