A new DIY Design event starts today (July 24), on Webkinz Classic, and all seven regular dyes are available to collect!

Look for the floating bottle of dye on your Webkinz Classic account and click on it to collect DIY dye!

Combine bottles of dye, Design Tickets and DIY furniture on the Clothing Machine at the KinzStyle Outlet, to make new furniture for your pets!

You can buy DIY furniture, DIY Design Tickets and the DIY Design Guide in the Fun Stuff > DIY section of the WShop, but you’ll only be able to collect free DIY dye during this event.

If you see a floating bottle of dye appear on your screen, click on it, and a bottle of DIY dye will be added to your Dock (limited to 2 a day for free players, 3 for full and 4 for Deluxe players).

All seven free DIY dyes are available to collect this time around: black, blue, green, orange, pink, purple and red:

You can combine these DIY dyes with a piece of DIY furniture and a DIY Design Ticket on the Clothing Machine at the KinzStyle Outlet on the Webkinz Classic Desktop App, to make funky new furniture for your pets!

 

Remember, DIY furniture and Design Tickets can only be found in the Fun Stuff > DIY section of the WShop.

Use the THINGS TO DO menu to access the KinzStyle Outlet, then click on the link to the Clothing Machine.

Drag a DIY Design Ticket, piece of DIY furniture and a bottle of DIY dye into the Clothing Machine, then click the MAKE IT button, and your new piece of furniture will be added to your Dock!

Use the DIY Design Guide to learn more about this event. It will be added to your Dock the first time you log in to your Webkinz Classic account from July 24 – 30.

There are also three bottles of premium DIY dye that you can purchase from the WShop for eStore points. Look for bottles of DIY Retro Dye, DIY Pastel Dye and DIY Tropical Dye in the Fun Stuff > DIY section of the WShop.

Combine a bottle of premium DIY dye with a DIY Design Ticket and piece of DIY furniture to make fancy new furniture that your pets will love:

Bottles of premium DIY dye will remain in the WShop once the DIY event ends on Webkinz Classic.

Play Webkinz Classic every day during the DIY Design event to collect as many dyes as you can… you never know which dyes will be available the next time we hold this event!

We’ve read lots of comments, and we’ve watched tons of videos from fans who say they love music too! So, we had a great idea! Let’s turn it over to Webkinz fans, and let them write and preform the pet of the month songs! Cool right?!

From Saturday May 14th 2011 to Tuesday May 31st 2011, we’ll be accepting video responses to our “Webkinz May Makeover Contest” video on YouTube.

The videos must show off attire, apparel or clothes that were made for your Webkinz pet and of course, you must also explain how you made it. I’m hoping you come up with something highly chic!

1st place winner: Sparkling Pegasus
2nd place winner: 5 KinzStyle Shopping Bags
3rd & 4th place winners: 1 Glam Boutique Shopping Bag

As an added bonus, all 4 winners will also have their videos posted on Webkinz Newz!

How to Enter the Webkinz May Makeover Contest

1. Go to the GanzVideos YouTube page and post a video response to the “Webkinz May Makeover Contest” video (http://youtu.be/f0vlSW-t9Mw).

2. Users will need to click “create a video response” and then click the “Attach a video” link — then you can select, upload or create your video. All videos will be screened before they are approved.

3. The video you upload should clearly explain how to create the piece of fashion attire, clothes or apparel you made for your Webkinz Pet. Be creative! There’s lots of things you could design. Maybe an outfit, hat, costume or dress – it’s entirely up to you!

4. The attire, clothes or apparel can be made with any type of material or fabric.

5. The videos will be judged on several factors; quality, creativity and the number of “views” you were able to achieve on YouTube.
