You will not BELIEVE this! I’ve finally figured out the mystery of the Abominable Snowman!

The first few steps of my plan went well. Sparky and I went to the place where I’d seen the tracks. I set down the Jumbleberry pie (to lure the Snowman out, you see) out in the open and hurried back to where Sparky was hiding behind a tree. We waited.

And waited.

And then waited some more. Seriously, who wouldn’t want that pie? We were there so long that Sparky said HE was going to eat the pie if the Snowman didn’t want it.

But then, something interesting FINALLY happened! We heard a wheeze, and then a grunt, and then some branches being shook—I was so scared, I couldn’t look. But then, Sparky shook my shoulder and whispered, “Oh, WOW!” so I turned and saw…

ARTE FACT!

Wait, Arte Fact? As in, Sparky’s uncle?

It was definitely him! He had discovered the pie and was closely inspecting it.

“Hi, Uncle Arte!” called out Sparky.

He turned and saw us. “Oh, hello, boys! Why are you all the way out here on such a chilly day? I even thought about staying in and I love to go out exploring. I’m out looking for interesting objects for my shop, which I do whenever I have some spare time!”

I could barely speak. “Like you did…a couple weeks ago?”

“Sure thing!” said Arte cheerfully. He leaned down to tug at his boots. “And I’m getting better at these snowshoes now, too! They make quite a trail in the deep snow, but they’re quite helpful for getting around.”

I looked closer. Sadly, I’m pretty sure Uncle Arte’s snowshoe tracks could pass for fairly convincing Abominable Snowman tracks.

Uncle Arte straightened up. “Want to head back now, boys? I think my exploration today is over. And this pie you brought with you looks mighty good, don’t you think?”

Sparky and I traded glances. “Definitely, Uncle Arte,” Sparky said. We set off through the deep snow, making tracks of our own.

I’m a bit sad that we didn’t find proof of the Abominable Snowman, but guess what? I made a plan, did an experiment, and found a solution! That’s what investigation’s all about. And with this one solved, I can’t wait until the next surprise we find!

An important part of any investigation is gathering evidence. And since I haven’t seen any more tracks to help me prove my theory that there’s an Abominable Snowman lurking around Webkinz World, I’m going to have to try and lure him out! Here’s my plan:

-          Get Sparky to be my assistant (I couldn’t bring Stoogles again, so I need Sparky to help even though he says I’m bonkers)

-          Tell him to stand guard

-          Place a delicious Jumbleberry pie out in plain sight, right where I saw the tracks

-           Hide with Sparky nearby, camera at the ready

-          Encounter the dreaded Abominable Snowman!

I think it’s a foolproof plan, don’t you?

Well, readers, I hate to alarm you but my little brother Reid STILL has a runny nose. Obviously it was time to take some serious action. My mother didn’t seem to appreciate just how serious this is so I decided to take matters into my own hands. My mom asked me to keep an eye on Reid while she did some shopping so I took him to see Dr. Quack.

I put him in his stroller and we headed over to Dr. Quack’s office. As soon as we got there I noticed that, despite the face he was smiling and laughing Reid’s face was bright red. I knew he must have been really sick.

Dr. Quack was surprised to see me – my mom usually makes an appointment first, but I told him it was an emergency. I explained about the sniffles and then I pointed out that Reid’s cheeks were bright red. Dr. Quack said that my cheeks were red too and that it probably had more to do with us walking out in the cold than with being sick.

But he agreed to look at Reid. He took his temperature and looked in his ears and his eyes and his mouth (Reid kept giggling – poor baby didn’t realize how sick he was) and he listened to Reid’s heart with a stethoscope.

Afterward he said that I was a very responsible sister to take such good care of my little brother. Then he went in his desk drawer and pulled out a handful of what looked like lollipops. He told me that they were special medicine for Reid, and that I could let him suck on these special lollipops for a few minutes each day as long as I made sure to brush his teeth afterward. He said in a few days Reid should be as good as new. Then he winked at me and said he would see me at my next check-up.

See, readers? I knew it. I knew there was something really wrong with Reid. Thank goodness I took him to the doctor and got the special medicine. I don’t know what is in these lollipops but they must really be making Reid feel better because he seems to just love them.

We went with a cool base for the first room. We used the Winter Season Kinzville Wallpaper to start with and I thought the Beach House flooring would look really nice with the cool tones. We used the Winter Wonderland Bed and complimented the cool tones with the neutral Tri-Mirror Mocha Dresser.

Of course, in a ski resort a fireplace in the room is a must and we included a comfy Stasis Sofa as well as an Animal Print Ottoman to add a bit of style.

For the bathroom we chose to go with purple tones to go along with the blues of the bedroom. We paired Purple Paint with the Bloomin’ Flooring. The Spa Theme looks lovely against purple so we used the Spa Steam Shower and Gathered Under Glass Side Table.

In the corner we placed a Sultan’s Settee to add a dash of flair and we used the Mosaic Mirror Set over the sink.

Nibbles here. I’m getting everything together for my spa day with the girls. Here is a recipe Plumpy uses for her homemade face masks. Plumpy has the most beautiful skin so I can’t wait to try it with my friends.

What you need:

-          1 ripe banana

-          1 tablespoon honey

-          1 tablespoon sour cream

-         an adult assistant

What you do:

Combine ingredients in a small bowl. Apply to freshly washed face. Leave on for 10 – 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water.

Polly Panda here. I had a great response to my idea for a Winter Festival. A lot of my friends signed up to help out. Nibbles said she would bake some cookies. She made these yummy snowball cookies! Don’t they look great?

Snowball Cookies

What you need:

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups flour

1 cup icing sugar

What you do:

Preheat oven to 350°.

In a medium bowl, combine shortening, butter, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Mix well.

Stir in flour and mix until well combined.

Scoop dough by tablespoonfuls and shape into balls, then place on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 7 minutes.

Place icing sugar in a shallow bowl.

When cookies are done, roll them in icing sugar while they are still warm.

Remember how I discovered those huge tracks in the snow and vowed to discover their owner?

I’m deep into my research now. I’ve always liked going to the Library, so luckily my parents aren’t suspicious why I’m there all the time. I love looking through the books on fantastical creatures and there’s so much to learn about the most interesting creature of all: the Abominable Snowman!

Here’s what I’ve learned:

-          Another name for the Abominable Snowman is a Yeti.

-          They love the snow and mountain ranges.

-          No one is sure if they really do—or don’t—exist.

-          They don’t like getting Polarberries thrown at them!

It’s Roberta again and I have some very bad news to report.  Remember the other day I told you about how Reid had a runny nose? Well, last night, I was sitting outside his bedroom door (just in case he needed me) and I heard him cough!

I told my mother we had to take him straight to Dr. Quack. She went into Reid’s room and checked on him. Despite the worrying cough I had just heard, he seemed to be sleeping soundly, but his nose did sound very congested when he breathed.

But do you know what my mother said? She told me I had to relax! She said he probably just coughed a bit because his nose was stuffed up and he had to breathe through his mouth. You know, I thought my mom was a wonderful mother, but I am really questioning her parenting skills right now. I mean, first it’s the sniffles, now it’s a cough! What next?

Now that we’re back at school I’m a bit worried about the winter blues setting in. So I had another idea that I pitched to Ms. Cowoline and she really liked it!

I think this is the perfect time for Kinzville Academy to plan a Winter Festival! The kids can take part in games and competitions, and we can make winter crafts and have some yummy winter snacks.

I put out a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board asking for volunteers to help brainstorm ideas and set up the festival. I hope some of my friends will help me out. When I told Cowabelle and Roberta about it, they loved the idea too.

We started with the Dining Room. The owners of the ski resort said that they wanted a very formal eating area, as they already have a café where guests can go for snacks and coffee. Their old dining room was pretty. I like the deep greens and the blue curtains on the windows, but somehow with all the different tones of wood the whole thing seemed disjointed. The owners also suggested that they would like their guests to be able to mingle and sit together, rather than having a bunch of smaller groupings.

Here is the new design. Hailey and I decided that if it’s elegant they want, it’s elegant they are going to get. We used the Majestic Ballroom Wallpaper and the Fantastic Fantasy Flooring to make a grand statement. Then we created two grouping of Large Mahogany Tables and used the Golden Mahogany Dining Chairs with it. In the corner we placed the Fabled Fireplace and used the High Class Tea Trolley and China Cabinet in the other corner. We thought the Diamond Piano was more fitting with the elegant feel of the room and Ancient Ionic Columns gave a grand statement to the room.

I think the guests will really feel they’re getting the royal treatment when they enter this grand dining room.
