Whoa – so it was my party today and it was CRAZY! You will never believe what happened! It was all going really well. I got some great presents and my Uncle took us deep down into the mines, which was really spooky – perfect for a Halloween party!
Then, my Uncle planned out this cool scavenger hunt. We teamed up to find unusual objects on the list. I was paired with Cowabelle and as we got close to the lake behind the Tournament Arena (we were looking for an oar) Nibbles and Roberta came running out of the trees, looking terrified. They said that there were strange noises coming from this old shipwreck on the shore. Just then Salley and Stoogles appeared and said they had heard something too. Polly and Alex and Laurabeard and Molly all arrived at the lake then so we decided that we would all check it out. After all, as Alex said, it couldn’t really be anything scary, right? I mean, that stuff is just in stories.
Quietly we all crept through the woods toward the boat and just as we got to the tree line, the boat gave a big shudder and then these strange moaning sounds rang out across the lake. We didn’t hang around to see what it was. We just took off out of there!
When we got back to the Curio Shop Uncle Arte was disappointed to see that not one team had found the final item on his scavenger hunt, the oar, but we were all so terrified, no one even cared about games at that point. None of us wanted to tell Uncle Arte what happened because we knew he’d think we were nuts, but I’m telling you – there was something in that boat! Something unnatural!
