I have a tip for you that has worked for me many times, on both Hatch and the original 2048! You should only move your tiles in three directions and try to avoid moving it the fourth way at all costs. For example, move up, left, and right, but never down. I scoffed at it when I heard it, but when I thought about it more and then tried it, I started getting much better scores!
