More Webkinz Room Designs!

Hey guys… Michael Webkinz here with some more Webkinz room designs! We are taking a break from making room design videos over the holidays but I still wanted to post some screenshots of awesome rooms that players have sent me. The room designers shown here will still be eligible to become finalists for our next Room Design Awards!

Since I am just posting screenshots, I am able to feature more than we would in a video! Take a close look at each room design and let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Here they are:

Congratulations to all the talented room designers who were featured in this post!

Want to send us screenshots of some of your favorite rooms? E-mail them to me at letsbuild@ganz.com. I can’t wait to see them!

All the best!

Michael, I am hoping you get this message. Upon reading current comments on the presentation of these Room Designs, I have become somewhat disheartened to discover that some no longer partake in viewing Players’ rooms due to the Video format. While in some agreement that it is more convenient to scroll threw the designs at one’s own pace I have to disagree with liking the still picture concept the best. Let me explain a few reasons why. First, I so look forward to hearing the voices’ of You and Mandy weekly in addition to hearing from Steve and Sally surprisingly pop-up every now and again. By the way tell Sally she must make a long over-due appearance. You giving account for the reasons why you chose a particular design, Mandy’s infectious laugh and enthusiasm, Sally’s astute observations and Steve’s different perspectives are All so Refreshing and Enjoyable. Second, your guest appearances from people like Adriano, Betty Butter, Christian, and Haley, to name just a few, give fresh eyes and insight to what could be an otherwise boring showing of yet another set of rooms. Thirdly, with the Video format I am able to enlarge the viewing of the rooms by using the YouTube feature while I am viewing rooms. I can stop the video at any time to see details of a particular room I am interested in. I will not continue on with why the Video concept is my preferred form of viewing. Again I am just saddened that some chose not to watch the videos and miss out on such Entertainment. Maybe you can provide both Still form and Video if that is not to much extra work for you. Thanks for all your time in making Webkinz much more than just another Video Game. Thanks for making Webkinz a FAMILY. Your Friend, trexjt2013

Agree 100%!! Fantastic post, trexjt2013! Every week I look forward to Michael, Mandy, Sally, Steve, and all the wonderful guest hosts. The videos are so much fun and so entertaining. Also, I love learning about all the WW room items and clothing items–Michael has an amazing encyclopedic memory of every single item (LOL!!), and it’s so interesting and enjoyable to listen to. Mandy does indeed have a fantastic laugh, and great thoughts on decorating. Sally and Steve offer their own wonderful perspective to design, and of course, having guest hosts each week is so interesting, because the players can get an inside view as to how WW is developing. I love those videos. And I, too, will stop a video at anytime if I want to linger over a particular room, so I never think I’m missing out on any details in a room design. What makes “Room Designs” and “Trendz” such a fun experience is not just the designs—it’s the hosts. As trexit2013 said, the amazing staffers have done an incredible job of making Webkinz much more than a video game—everyone has each other’s backs! We share our prizes with one another, we celebrate our new pets, we vent our frustrations, and most importantly: we look out for each other’s safety (Sally does a great job of monitoring our posts.) it really is a wonderful community–a Webkinz family. And Michael, Mandy, Sally, Steve, Adriano, Betty Butter, Christian, and all the other staffers deserve an enormous amount of credit for fostering that family feeling.

Wow. That is such a good point, trexjt2013! I didn’t realize all of that. :0

animalsmatter1 & bubbashuka, Thanks for your encouragement!! I just remembered something funny about watching the Room Design videos and thought I would share. Have you ever noticed anytime Mandy doesn’t recognize an item she gets really excited, then she says “After this video I have got to go to the Trading Room”, she makes me laugh every time. It is so nice to see that the Staff get so excited about, and still don’t know all the items Webkinz has. I find that even Michael with his photographic memory sometimes doesn’t know the specifics of some items. That makes me laugh to because I find myself saying “no it’s this PSI or that Room Theme”. I know much less of the items than Michael but find it funny when I talk to myself trying to correct him. I have to say I still remember the Video in which Michael innocently said the Birdhouse Feeder gotten as a Deluxe Day item was just for Decoration. I replied later in the comments section that it was a Dispenser that gave a Daily Birdseed cookie. Several people did not realize this and then started getting their Birdseed cookies. With stills I would probably never known to inform some on that great item. Yet another reason I like the Videos. Anyway I ramble. See you in Webkinz World. trexjt2013

Hi trexjt2013—–you are not rambling at all! (besides, I am one who actually does ramble in my posts, so we should all give each other a pass if we ‘ramble’ once in awhile! LOL). Once again, I was thinking the exact same thing as you regarding Michael and Mandy’s videos!! I am always in hysterics when Mandy announces she has to get to the Trading Room! And yes–so true about our friend, Michael Webkinz, bless his heart, once in awhile even he is stumped by an item. Like you, trexjt2013, I sit at my desk, and say the same things you do! “No, that’s a PSI!!!”, etc… Sometimes, I, too, will post what the particular item is—I do think all of us fans and collectors love knowing such things. And frankly, I’m in awe of how much Michael Webkinz actually does retain about all these amazing WW items. But the biggest enjoyment I get from the videos is exactly what you stated in your second post: I love that all the staffers still get excited about WW pets, themes, items, designs, and WW fashions. I mean, think about it—WW is our hobby—but it’s their job! And sometimes even the best job in the world can become a drag——but the WW Team never makes it sound as if they are working—they always sound like they are having fun in the videos, and that makes it so much fun for us fans. A word about Mandy: I love her laugh! (And let’s face it: she’s a total Fashionista! I love seeing her outfits!) The other thing I love about Mandy is that we have the same taste in design. One of my favorite items in WW is the Conservatory Wallpaper. (I use that so often in my rooms!). And I loved one of the recent videos in which Michael was teasing Mandy about her love for that wallpaper, because every time it show up in a room design, Mandy says how much she loves it! Too cute! And in another video, (the video that featured the items in Fall Fest), I remember Mandy having said how much she loved “weathered furniture”, and I was sitting here, saying, “Me too!!! It’s my favorite!!” (In fact, I think I even posted that, after the video.) But despite their personal design preferences, they are still able to find the creative talent in rooms that perhaps, one might not even realize have the “WOW” factor. They have recognized such amazing talent in out WW community. I can’t believe how creative everyone is–super imaginative. And I love the staffers commentary about those types of rooms. Believe it or not—and I know this sounds crazy–I learn stuff about design! And it’s a lot of fun. WW has evolved into so much more than “Plush Pets Come To Life”—–(which in and of itself is a super-cute video game concept)—but at it’s very core: it’s really a life-learning tool for young people, as well as a fantastic escape for us older folks. And once again, I have to say: those videos bring it all together. For staffers to be so connected to their product–and their customers—how unusual is that? (VERY unusual!) Okay, now I am the one rambling! lol I had said in one of my earlier posts on this topic that perhaps a balance could met: maybe once in while, when Michael and Mandy go on vacation, for example, or during a busy holiday season, that yes–posting “Room Design” and “Trendz” pictures are great….But overall, I really want those videos! They are so special. All the best, trejt2013. And to bubbashuka: loved your comment, and I think it’s awesome the way you always keep an open mind about things!

Actually, I’m torn. I love it both ways. I really, really like to view the rooms above, and I can print a room I love instantly. Also, I enjoy watching the videos – especially Michael’s input and Mandy’s laugh – but I can’t figure out how to print a room from the videos. My favorite is Candy Cane Banquet. Second is Savannah Jungle. They are ALL great!

Wonderful design from everyone. Weedsie’s tree was so clever and original. I had to chuckle when I got to the Purple Couch Awards. Just too funny.

I like yesterday’s Fashion Show and today’s Room Designs a lot better in picture format than in video form.

Fantastic room designs this week! All of the designers did such a great job, and have their own unique style. First, I want to congratulate 22bunny for ‘Cinderella’s Room’—I think 22bunny used a small room, and that is quite a design feat! It’s wonderfully decorated without being crowded and each of the items used were clearly carefully chosen. Well done, 22bunny! ‘Savannah Jungle’ is just gorgeous and so peaceful. Same with “Northern Trails”–I love the designer’s use of the Campkinz tiles. “Country Farm” and “Farmer’s Market” speak to me, because I love everything country; and again: both rooms are so peaceful. I love the ‘Thanksgiving Dining Room’ because I am the kind of player who has to have ALL (lol) my pets sit together for a holiday meal! So I really appreciate it when I see other players extend their dining room table to accommodate a lot of pets. ‘Christmas Village’ amazed me, because it is so beautiful, but also because I’m so impressed with how many cabins the designer built!! ‘The Playhouse” is so well done, and reminds me of the historical playhouses I’ve attended in New York City. The ‘Giant Christmas Tree’ is so creative and so whimsical; great job! ALL the designers featured today did an amazing job–you would all get my vote for “best design”! As for the format of the Room Designs…….. I agree it’s nice to have all the rooms posted so that we can really take our time looking at them, but frankly: I miss Micheal and Mandy’s commentary and critique. I really enjoy their narration very much. They always make me laugh, and they do such a great job introducing all the rooms. (and if I feel I’ve missed a a detail in a room, I just replay the video.) I think this is a great balance—posting the room designs during the holiday month, but (please!!) don’t stop doing those wonderful room (and ‘Trendz’!) videos.

Well Said animalsmatter1, and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to You!!! I am so looking forward to hearing from Mandy & Michael Ringing in the New Year.

    • 22Bunny says:

Thank you for your compliments, animalsmatter1! I designed Cinderella’s room as a small room because it gave more of the small attic look from the movie. And yes, it was difficult to find the right balance among items in the room! I’m so happy I got featured!
