Webkinz History: Designing Amanda Panda

Check out this original concept art!

When we create a new character in Webkinz World, an artist creates a series of concept drawings of what the character could look like. Once a design is chosen, the artist then provides some color samples and finally, the characters come to life in Webkinz World!

Here are the concept drawings for Amanda Panda, who you can visit at the Wish Factory:

And here is the final design for Amanda Panda. We love her shoes! Normally you don’t see her feet because she’s usually standing behind the counter at the Wish Factory:

Aww love these articles. Concept 1 would have been amazing if amazing world was still around. Concept 2 was way cuter but concept 3 is our Amanda Panda.

#3 I Love OUR Amanda Panda. She is adorable. Thank you for the concept drawing. So much goes into her. I still draw stick people with colorful block clothes LOL Bren191

I am not artistic. Please don’t laugh at my question. Are the concept drawings 3 different ideas from the same artist, or are they each drawn by 3 separate artists? I agree with the choice that you made for the final form of Amanda Panda. I do like some aspects of the middle design – she looks fun, and young, and her cute black hair makes me smile. Plus her facial features are laid out in a heart pattern – so sweet! I also like her soft looking mitten hands, but that’s probably less practical for being able to help lots of kinz. Thanks for the behind the scenes look!
