Great news, fellow detectives! I’ve uncovered the top secret documents from Ganz headquarters that explains everything!
I’ll be posting these discovered documents right here in my column starting TODAY!
Here now is the first part of my EXCLUSIVE SCOOP!
Over the past 10 years, Webkinz World has continued to grow and evolve. Webkinz X is the next step in that evolution, as we update some important elements in the game to help take it to the next level!
The main goal of Webkinz X is to make your pets feel more alive and interactive, and to make them more central to the way you play. Taking care of your pets has always been a part of Webkinz World, so we wanted to improve upon this idea, making it both more important AND more rewarding.
Webkinz X will see an update to your pet’s meters, so that they will now look like this:
While the Happiness and Hunger meters remain, instead of Health you will instead need to watch your pet’s Energy. The more things you do with your pet, the happier they will get. However, they will also get hungrier and get tired faster. You will still be able to feed, bathe, groom, and exercise your pets to give them an Energy boost, but eventually your pet will need to sleep in order to get their Energy back. However, all you’ll need to do is give them a nap in any bed, and after a few minutes, they will once again be ready to play!
While these meters will move up and down a lot more as you play, it will only be for your active pet. Once you give one pet a nap, you can simply switch to another and continue to play with them instead!
Feeding your pets will also be more realistic, as we’re updating all of the foods so that big meals will fill them up faster, while smaller snacks will only give them a bit of a boost. However, this also means that your pets won’t want to eat a big meal when they’re almost full. So now you’ll need to be more selective when choosing what to serve your pets!

I really like this idea! I am trying to not feed my pets too many sweets either since it’s not good for them. I never liked that feeding her broccoli made her happiness go DOWN since I LOVE broccoli. I’m glad they will fix up those things. Thanks Ganz and thanks Ella for the scoop!

Yeah, I love broccoli, too! I always have. I think we need to change this idea everyone has that broccoli is gross and everyone hates it, because it’s just not true! And do you mean the daisy shoes? I think I might have an extra pair of those. I’ll have to check. My UN is Foxfan8 if you’d like to send a FR. If I have another pair of the shoes I will send them to you, but if I don’t at least we’ll each have another friend!

I don’t like Doritos or Fritos either, and while I don’t exactly hate Cheetos or Coca-Cola, they’re not my favorites and I never really eat/drink them. But I love hamburgers, tomatoes, and carrots! I don’t really like Lima beans and peas, but I eat them anyway.

I read somewhere that some people’s taste buds experience brocolli as bitter tasting, & somehow this got turned into “Nobody likes brocolli”, which as we know is simply untrue! It’s one of my fav vegetables! What I don’t care for is soda – carbonated drinks give me the hiccups, every time!
Broccoli is one of my favorite vegetables! I always thought that broccoli and cauliflower looked like little trees. :)
Yes, my favorite dish is “trees and cheese”. It’s like mac and cheese only with cauliflower and broccoli!

I honestly don’t really like this feature. I get that they’re trying to make the game more realistic, but I don’t really like realistic. I mean, this is a game. I like games that aren’t that realistic. Plus, I wish the Health meter was back. So far, I don’t like Webkinz X very much. I don’t really like the style of the meters, too. Sorry if I’m being mean to Ganz or Webkinz or anything, but Ella DID say to tell her what we think of Webkinz X. :P
Hey MiniPines101, I completely agree with you! I have about 7-8 pets on my account, but what if someone only has one and then has to wait a while for their pet to sleep since they can’t switch over! Plus, it’s weird that the graphics for this are different from the normal ones we have now so it makes me wonder what all is changing! I also don’t like how we now have to “carefully select” what food we are giving our pets!:( I don’t’ really like Webkinz X so far!!!!:(
I’m not as worried as you balletbear5M, but I do wonder how this is going to go over. How will the players react to having to feed their pets at least some healthy food, especially after all the outraged pushback against Daisy Doe wanting to accomplish basically the same thing? This is going to be very interesting, indeed! I don’t have any personal misgivings over what I’ve seen of Webkinz X so far, but I feel for newer players with only one or two pets, & hope this will not make things harder for them.
I dont either. It seems a little more like a mobile version like than an actual computer game. I’m not X-actly sure what to think of this new “Webkinz X”

I don’t like it, either. Some people have limited time or limited access for Webkinz. I don’t like this concept of punishing players and pets, or complicating things. I also agree with you about the style/graphics of Webkinz X. It’s jarring to my sensory issues, and I do not mean in an ‘I’ll need to get used to it way’. More like a ‘well, it’s already a huge struggle for me to get on in my situation, maybe it’s not worth it way’ which is bad because my accounts are huge, I have a ton of money invested in this hobby, and I already have do all sorts of tricky hoop-jumping to make Webkinz happen for me as it is. *sigh* Thanks ganz for wrecking my favorite obsession.
I soooo agree with you….I like some new changes but this seems to much.
My account is huge to and I am already am struggling to keep my webkinz happy and I have limited time on webkinz so they are just making it harder for me.At least I have beds to put my webkinz to sleep and I have tons of big and small meals.So look on the bright side.Remember that you can buy big and small meals and before you log out you can put your webinz to sleep.
I agree with you MiniPines101. I hope that when webkinz get tired, they don’t refuse to play a game or go to the clubhouse or whatever you want to do with them. When I’m on webkinz, I spend a while on it before I log out. I’m hoping it will take a while for webkinz to get tired because if they had to take naps all the time, that would get frustrating.
I agree with all of you. I’ve been loving this game since 2007 and going along with all of the minor changes they’ve made. But this? I think it will take it too far from what webkinz really is and I feel like it will make webkinz way less enjoyable. Good luck to ganz keeping any players after this change. For me, I’m pretty sure I’ll be gone once the change occurs
I like what your saying….I have so much invested in this game, I’d hate to just give it up but…..don’t want to be unhappy playing something so different.
I agree with 100%. I’m really scared that webkinz isn’t gonna be as fun anymore (no offense Ganz). One of the reasons I’m might not like this is that my and my webkinz friends luv to take our favorite pets to the kinzchat plus kinzville park and chat together. This might ruin the fun when our pets have to go to sleep. I mean, no offense Ganz but it kinda seems like webkinz is about to turn into simkinz… OK, simkinz, that’s an odd word I just made up LOL! And yes, the thing with the meals might be a bit difficult… it’d actually be A LOT easier to keep the feeding part the way it is now. And I really, really, really hope they don’t change too much of webkinz world, especially new pet designs, that would be kinda sad to see our cute furry friends change their looks. :( I really hope that Ganz doesn’t get offended by all of this I said… I’m just trying to be honest about wut I think about Webkinz X…

I’m scared too. And ganz, maybe you should make a warning on the day before the change happens. So when they log in a warning will appear. Just so people know, because not all Webkinz fanz read Webkinz newz.
I’m another 2007 kinzer so I guess this is a little scary for me too… But no matter what, I will still collect webkinz plush, I will still dream about my webkinz pets, and I will still obsessively obsess over my plushies.

Wow. It’s really nice to know that some Webkinz fans agree with me! Hopefully Ganz allows you to enable or disable Webkinz X features when it comes out. Thank you guys so much for supporting my opinion!
It’s nice to see everyone stating their opinions. That is, about what we know. We don’t even know the rest of the story, so those of you who say you dislike Webkinz X already, don’t get discouraged! There may be some AWESOME changes coming along with it, that you may like! So don’t worry. If we hate it when Webkinz X arrives, I’m sure Ganz will hear us out. :)
I agree! I am a little worried about Webkinz X. But not enough to keep me from getting excited about it! I mean… Ganz got webkinz this far! 10 years! Not a lot of online games i know of have made it that far. So how bad can it really get! there has been some hard times…. like Mrs. Birdy’s makeover, Debbie Dragon just vanishing, the new W-shop, and Dr. Quack’s retirement. But, other then that I feel the updates have mainly progressed the game! so lets not give up on Webkinz X yet! #NoRemodelJustAddition
I don’t know about this change. It sounds like just feeding our pets will be complicated. What about the younger (age 6) players? No offense Ganz, I really like Webkinz, but you asked for thoughts…

For now… I’ll keep loving my plushes for a long time, but there’s no guarantee for the site, especially with the direction it’s been going.
I’m kinda hoping that Webkinz X is a measure to fix the stuff that Webkinz missed the nail on, but that could be just me. We’ll see in the end!

I’m scare too. Yeah, Heart, I agree that ganz should post a warning. I hope that they don’t change too much. It wouldn’t be fair for us who have been for as long as we can remember. I mean, the W-shop change was enough to make me get mad that that had changed. The bars aren’t a bad change. Let’s hope it doesn’t get worse.
I’m scared as well. I’m worried that, once Webkinz X is released, the pets are going to look VERY different from what they look like now (about as different as the new Veggietales).
I don’t much care for the proposed changes either. I’m not good at computer games at all, but I can play some of the easier Webkinz games. I checked out Amazing World, but decided it was to complicated to be nearly as enjoyable as WW. I’m not opposed to the new style care meter, but I have most of the same concerns as listed here under MiniPines101′s comment of 6/10/15 10:51am
Add me to the list of those who are very skeptical about this change. This is no more realistic than it was before – less so, in my opinion, and a lot more “fussy”. Webkinz did away with Dr. Quack after all the pets breathed in a mysterious formula that will keep everyone healthy forever (that’s realistic!). So far I am not at all impressed.
I really do miss Dr Quack. Did you see the Love Courtyard made by a fan in his & Ms Birdy’s honor? I’m totally doing a garden like that next to my Dr Q’s Clinic room in my house. I hope that whatever else they do, they don’t rob us of any more beloved hosts.
What a nice way to honor Dr. Quack and Ms. Birdy! I agree – the remaining hosts need to do just that – remain. I lean toward the “if it can go bad, it will” type thinking, and need to be more positive. Still, for me, these changes don’t instill optimism. Like everyone else, waiting to see…
I don’t think I will like this change, either. Some changes to WW have been good – like adding Adventure Park, making the classes at the Academy free, and not having accounts completely expire after the first year. Other changes have not been so good – like making so many things deluxe only; taking away Dr. Quack’s clinic; severely restricting what free members can do; and going directly to the house on login, instead of to the map (it’s harder to load this way). But, I don’t think this Webkinz X thing will be a positive change. I like the way WW looks and works right now. Every time there is a change, it is so hard to get used to. And this looks pretty major. I like things to stay the same. Some people like to change things around a lot just for fun. I don’t. I like things to stay the same, unless there is a particular problem that needs to be fixed. In that case, I like to fix the problem, and leave everything else the same. Please don’t change WW too much, Ganz. If you want to change something, make it so that any account that has 5 or more pets adopted on it automatically has regular membership for life instead of downgrading to free membership. That would be a great change. And trust me, any person that buys more than 5 Webkinz is probably hooked, and will continue to buy them if they have the money. So, there won’t be a decrease in sales, and may even be an increase if people buy them just because they like them, rather than because they “have to get them” to keep their account active.

They have made it easier to access the dress and my pet features. That is what I like most about this new feature.

I already take good care of my pets, so it may not affect me. Still, I am wondering what happens when a pet gets overtired or too hungry. Will they “refuse” to play a game? Also, I really LOVED Dr. Quack’s clinic and it seems strange that they are going to NOW focus so much on pet care, but they just closed the clinic. Oh well, I will wait and see. The look of the meters is nice.
Closing the clinic was part of the change. Now we have energy meters, not health, so no more need for a clinic I guess.
Sounds like fun. Completing challenges that require food is going to be harder now… ummm

Yes, voting seems to be the thing people would like. But we don’t even know the whole thing about what Webkinz X really is. So let’s wait and see what it actually is before we say we hate it. :)

Anime’s Japanese cartoons, kinda like pokemon. I’ve only seen pokemon and beyblade… apparantly naruto’s more “advanced” or something… i think it’s a comic, or “manga”, that was made into a cartoon, but… I dunno… :D
Anime is a style of animation that began in Japan & has become very popular worldwide. Naruto is an Anime character. Did you ever see Spirited Away or Howl’s Moving Castle? Those films are in the anime style. Manga is the comic version.

ok so you know on the homepage where before you log in, well on the bottom it says some stuff and then the parents area when you click it it will have a bunch of stuff to click on, click kinzchat plus then you log in and some other stuff and then your parent or guardian will get an email asking for permission and they say yes and done oh and here is my account friend me and then we could maybe meet in the park it is Ava91404
u don’t need deluxe for Kinzchat +, all you need is a account that has your starter pet and plushie/ virtual only pet/s

I knew those were meters, I just didn’t know what exactly they were used for. And an ENERGY meter???? Cool! It will probably encourage us to play on more than just one pet because the pets would need to go to sleep sometimes.

Good! I’ve always hated that when I give my pets like a recipe food, they only get filled as much as, say, a peach! The energy bar is really smart! But the meters on the heart thing with the clothes and stuff is weird! I hope that this layout is only for Mobile!!!!
Guess it’s not terrifically Top Secret then. Ugh. No health? Well. See, oddly enough, I thought health had something to do with taking care of living things. I think they should’ve just added it on. And my pets never stay in their beds, because the “Log Off” button is off screen for me. Most of my feeling almost like pets are “alive” came from their imaginary looks so they were unique, their complicated and flawed personalities, and even their own voices (in stark contrast to Webkinz World, where everyone, including Shadow the Black Wolf, sounds like a chipmunk). And I don’t really see how the title “Webkinz X” has anything to do with this. I kept picturing a bunch of X-Men characters as Webkinz. I didn’t think that was what it was, but I still pictured it. :P

Anyway, second point, I do agree that ADDING energy instead of replacing health would’ve been good, but I think they thought that would’ve been redundant. Next, I think the title will play a part later on. Lastly, X-Men in Webkinz World would be like totally awesome. But you would have to make that X-Pets. Huh. Cool!
X is the Roman numeral for the number 10. Hope this helps since we are celebrating the 10th. anniversary of Webkinz World.

OH! Maybe THAT’S why they named it that! I knew that X was the Roman Numeral for 10, but never put two and two together…..interesting…makes sense though!
I think that health is no longer needed, I mean we only pay attention to it when our pets were sick. And now our pets wont get sick because Dr. Quack is gone and we won’t need the medication.
Actually, they HAD to do something about the absence of a doctor in WW (luckily I have a VET’s office AND a Medical office in my array of approximately 600+ rooms…) but I ALWAYS have to keep ALL my pets at 100 percent everything before I log off–maybe not realistic for the real world, but hey it’s NOT the real world, after all. That being said, I take it from this that GANZ wants to make taking care of pets more like taking care of ourselves–thus trying to make it MORE realistic, less fantasy-world, etc. I still, however, do not think this is “THE BIG ‘X’ REVEAL!!” We shall see, but I would love to hear more from Genelle and LESS (MUCH LESS) from all this silly suspense-building nonsense.

Which stinks like heck. Yep, I still imagine Webkinz can get sick, because there isn’t a magical cure for every single disease, and I have a slight amount of realism for my stories and games with Webkinz.
I really agree. That’s how I see my webkinz too. I have been playing since I was 7 (I’m 12) and I feel like Webkinz X will take the parts of the game that I love, and change them. I was mad when they changed the W Shop!

I had a feeling that this was a change in the look of the meters. There is now more information on the meter which is something that I did not expect but I think I will like. I really like the idea of better interaction with the pets. I am all for the hearts and rainbows motif!
Feel more “alive and interactive”? I really hope they don’t change it into a layout like amazing world or something. I am truly dreading this change, I don’t understand why we can’t keep it the way it is.

Also just wanted to say, I don’t think I am going to be too big of a fan of the “Evolution” Yeah, it looks interesting and that, but I just loved webkinz how it was. This new webkinz “nap time” is pretty odd. I usually put my pets to bed before I log off, I don’t see why we can’t just leave the health bar the way it was. What I would like to see, is for § to make a new kinz chat plus area! Or possibly change the letter system, and you could be able to type what you want on the letters. I dunno about this new health bar…
Personally, I don’t like the direction Webkinz has been going. All this Deluxe stuff, all this estore, the streamlining of KinzChat Plus (worst update ever), kicking out Doctor Quack, a weird immunity liquid thingy that got airborne so we have no choice but to make our pets take this unknown and untested medication, now it doesn’t even matter if food is healthy or not (I wonder how Daisy Doe would feel about this), and I might not be able to use Orion and Shadow has much, because for some reason they need naps. C’mon, they sleep all night, isn’t that enough? Well, I guess they are supposed to be kids (for some reason), but most of mine I imagine as teenagers to adults. Anyway, not liking this at all.

I never even logged on during the medication thing!!!!! And if I did, I didn’t go outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the whole vaccine for everything in the air is totally impossible!!!!!!!! I wish it was, because I got stabbed with needles on Thursday!!! It hurts!!!! Plus I’m afraid of needles!!! Not the kind you sew with, the kind you stab with! And my arm is sore! The gave me the tetanus shot in my left arm!!! I’m left handed, too!!! XP
OW!!! That SOUNDS like it hurt!! I’m not fond of medical needles either. :)
No pets had to take medication on webkinz. My pet was totally fine and not sick at all. But I do agree about the Dr. Quack thing. Ever since he left, my pet has been sick and I can recover her.
I agree Pokekinz… The energy bar will probably be really annoying too. I imagine my webkinz as teens. =/ Webkinz has been odd for these past couple months.
I feel like youll just receive a sort of warning message that your pet needs to sleep. Maybe they’ll be a certain kind of energy boost such as a healthy food that we can give to our pet too:)

I know this probably isn’t the best place to put this, but they’ve changed the forums a lot since I last used them and it’s a pain in the neck for me, and this is more of a one-of-a-time thing, so please bear with me. I have, over the past few months, acquired a lot of unique foods from different events/trading/gifts, but my “My Stuff” bar is getting pretty crowded, so I’d like to clear it out. SO, I’m giving away my food. All you have to do is send me something random through KinzPost (i.e., a banana, or an apple, or something cheap from the W-Shop) and I’ll send you back some food–you could get something rare, or some cool recipes, or PSF… It’s much easier than having to add a whole bunch of people just for this and then forgetting to send someone something…. Honestly, I have 400+ friends on my list, and they’re hard to keep track of. So, yeah, just send me an orange or something from the store and I’ll give you 3 random food items, since I can just hit the “send a thank-you” button. I am sorry for being the “brunt of the party” for all you people who are looking forward to Webkinz X, but I just find it extremely odd. Why should we have to put our pets to sleep in order to be able to “play with them again” At least, I am thinking that’s what you have to do, since this is so top secret. :P Really, I am not trying to seem like a downer, but I use pretty much one pet on my account to go to the park with. Now, if our pets get tired or low on energy or something like that, we will have to let them sleep, then use another pet… I am definitely, not a fan of this.
I get your disappointed comments. But Webkinz X is up and running. Complaining won’t change anything, and stated reasons why you are NOT looking forward to this upcoming event won’t change others’ feelings about how they actually like it. We don’t even know what’s coming, exactly! The best we can do is give Ganz suggestions, not grope! Please, guys, these comments of how we hate this are discouraging. Please focus on the positive.
Ganz ASKED for our opinions, and that means everyone, not just the people who think the changes will be positive. And complaining has actually changed things here before, as in when they tried to get rid of kinzchat plus. The fans expressed their opinions, Ganz listened to their concerns & modified the changes to please the fans. Never stop expressing your opinion, especially when it has been asked for!!!

ArtMagician, I know that my “complaining” is not going to help matters any, yes, I am most of the time pretty positive about upcoming events! Unless I would like to speak my mind which I did on my comment. I really am not looking forward to switching pets constantly. Yes, I know that others feelings about Webkinz X are going to probably not change, but that doesn’t mean I can’t state some reasons why I am not looking forward to Webkinz X. Sorry to seem like a complete downer, I, along with everyone else here can express how we feel about upcoming events and/or if we like them or not. I just happen to not like one upcoming event that § has here. That doesn’t mean I am going to change my outlook to appease everyone else. I simply just don’t care for the looks of Webkinz X. All that is too it. I am not going to change my outlook to please others. I understand, lavadragon, but some people on here aren’t being nice when they complain. You are stating your mind, that’s fine! But some people seem to be writing comments JUST to complain. In my opinion, that is useless. The reason why? Webkinz X isn’t even here yet, meaning we can’t say we hate it yet. That is why complaining won’t have an effect on Ganz yet, considering we can only really state whether we like it or not once it has arrived in Webkinz World. That is my point. Not trying to be rude, or trying to say not to voice opinions! But what if….what if you love Webkinz X?
I agree totally, ArtMagician. You guys need to CHILL! You have no clue what’s gonna happen, so your making stuff up and staring others. I first was scared tpp. But then I realized I had no idea and was just making stuff up in my head. We have to focus on not just the bad, scary things that MIGHT happen, we also should focus on the things that sound cool. I totally understand your complaints but really. I disagree. I’ve been playing webkinz for 8 years and I am not into the health meters etc. This new idea will force me to participate in a part of the game that I’m not interested in. Ganz has asked our opinion. So we are free to give it. I pay for deluxe and I don’t want to be bothered with putting my pet to bed or creating wholesome meals. I would rather spend my time doing the things I want to do. I’d rather Ganz spend time fixing glitches and improving usability. I hope that fixes are part of WebkinzX. If so, why keep them secret. Seems silly to me.
Ya, me 2, but I wish there would be a clean, sleep, and bathroom, too. Also, is there going to be a way to revert back to the old Webkinz?
