Robert Rabbit’s Workshop Makeover
Elwin here, with our second-to-last room makeover at the Rabbit house. Today, we redid Robert’s workshop. Robert loves woodworking and making all kinds of neat things (that’s probably where Molly gets her craftiness). The room had been used as a workshop before, but it wasn’t very well set up. A good workshop needs to have a place for everything, so it doesn’t look too cluttered. Robert was THRILLED to see this set up. He said that he’ll make us a rocking chair for our office. Nice!
Roberta’s Rec Room
The Rabbit family has a lovely, large basement. When we asked Roberta’s parents what they wanted to do with it, they said they only wanted three things down there: 1. A craft room for Roberta 2. A workshop for Robert (Roberta’s dad) 3. A playroom/recreation room for the new baby and Roberta Today, we started with the recreation/playroom. We knew that this room would allow us to be really whimsical and creative. After all, it’s for kids and it’s in the basement. Here’s what we came up with: As you can see, half of the room is for Roberta and her friends, and half is perfect for a little bunny. Pretty awesome, right? Roberta sure thought so! What do you think, friends?

Princess Palace Theme
When Hailey and I were asked to design a bedroom for Dacey Bryn, we knew what we had to do: use the Princess Palace theme. If anyone falls into the ‘princess’ category, it’s her! Since Dacey LOVES pink, we knew this theme would be a total hit. We painted the walls a lovely bubblegum color and kept the floor simple and wooden. My favorite part of this Rare theme is the bed – it’s super plush and perfect for a pop star. Hailey loved the stained glass windows. They let in a gorgeous pink light!

Roberta’s Attic
Hailey here with another fabulous makeover. Today, we tackled the attic. Now, most people just use the attic for storage…or for nothing at all. But the Rabbit family wanted to use it as a library. We knew we’d need to create a peaceful space for the family to relax and unwind. The only thing Roberta’s mom mentioned is that they needed to keep SOME storage up there. So with some clever design, this is what Elwin and I came up with: Tell us what you think!

Polly’s Birthday Banner
Roberta here with another great craft for Polly’s upcoming surprise party. Today, we’re going to make a recycled paper banner from scraps in my scrap paper box. Here’s what you need: Scraps of paper (different colors), string or yarn, glue stick, scissors, drinking glass, pencil Here’s what you do: Trace the drinking glass on each scrap piece of paper. Cut out all the circles. Glue two circles, back to back, on the yarn (sandwiching the yarn in the middle). Space your pairs of circles about two inches apart. Let the glue dry. When the glue is dry, hang up your banner!
The Persian Palace Room Theme
Have you ever wanted to live in a palace? Ever since I was just a little elephant, that’s been a dream of mine. And now it’s coming true, with this gorgeous Persian Palace room! OK, so it’s not MY room, but I can live vicariously through my client! My favorite thing about this theme is the color palette. I love the pinks, blues, turquoises and purples. I think this might be my favorite rare theme of all time – it’s just so pretty. When I was designing this room, I wanted to make it comfortable and airy. That’s why I added not one but TWO beds, and a whole bunch of windows. I also think the pool in the corner adds an extra-special spa-like touch. If you’re looking to build a palace of your own, make sure to visit the Curio Shop often and see what Arte has on sale. For other ways to get rare items, read on!
Backyard: Before & After
Today Elwin and I got to try landscaping – and I think it went pretty well! We actually consulted with Fluffington (who know everything there is to know about fancy plants) before we designed the Rabbit family’s backyard. Elwin and I knew we didn’t want to make their yard as extravagant as Fluffington’s, but we did want to have an area just for the grownups – and an area for the kids. First, here’s the old backyard: We’ve got a fountain, a quiet bench (perfect for reading), and, of course, we added in a swing set and slide for the new baby! What do you think?
Aztec Theme
Hailey here with another Rare theme spotlight! Today we’re going to take a look at the always amazing Aztec theme. Check it out! The first thing I love about this theme is the floor – followed closely by the wallpaper! The various shades of gray, greenish-gray and bluish-gray work just perfectly together. Next, I love how vibrant the reds, blues, greens and oranges are against the slate colors. My personal favorite pieces are the bed (I LOVE that bedspread) and the fire pit. Oh! And the totems. Those are just gorgeous. If you’ve got a Webkinz who happens to love a striking, intricate theme, then this is the one to get.
Victorian Garden Theme
Elwin here with a gorgeous OUTDOOR Rare theme – the only one, actually! It’s the Victorian Garden theme and it’s so special. I mean, really? Have you ever seen anything so stunning in your life before? I made this garden for none other than Meriwether St. Bernard – Fluffington’s teacup loving aunt. She told me that she wanted a garden that would make the ladies in her book club sit up and take notice. And I think this garden did the trick! My personal favorite pieces are the bird baths, tea table and intricate benches. Of course, I also love the various shrubbery and the variety of trees. Some of the flowers are from the W Shop (don’t tell Meriwether!), and I think they work just perfectly. Actually, any flowers or trees would look wonderful in this gloriously green yard!
Nursery Makeover
Well, as everyone knows, the Rabbit family is expecting a new addition in a couple of months. To prepare for his or her arrival (Hailey says it’s going to be a girl…but I think it’s definitely a boy), we decorated the nursery today. Since we’re not sure if it’s a boy or girl, we kept the color palette neutral (and really, does it matter if a girl has a blue room or a boy has a pink room? Anyone can like any color they want!). Here’s what we came up with: I know the little bunny is going to LOVE this calming, gentle space. It’s just perfect for a baby…and when he or she grows up, we can come back and redecorate again!
Plumpy’s Trading Times: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Plumpy will be in a Trading Room today (Friday) between 3:30 and 4:30 pm. Plumpy will be in a Trading Room tomorrow (Saturday) between 10:00 and 11:00 am. Plumpy will be in a Trading Room on Sunday between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. She’s got Rare Egyptian items to trade!
Roberta’s Bathroom: Before & After
So today Elwin and I got to redo Roberta’s bathroom. It’s not a HUGE space to work with, but I think we definitely made the room feel larger. We had a long talk about what to do with this room, and we actually worked together on a design. The only request Roberta had was “make it super-girly!” Here’s the before: Wow. That wallpaper is just…no. And here’s the after: Roberta absolutely LOVES the new look. Mrs. Rabbit couldn’t believe how much difference a paint color can have – it IS pretty impressive. Elwin and I have never decorated an ENTIRE house before, but we’re really enjoying the challenge. Roberta’s parents told us that they’re going to recommend us to all of their friends – so I guess the Designer Elephants are going to do a booming business!
