Choose Your Own Story – Booger Keeps the Disk
Booger ran back to his yard. It wasn’t his fault that the hubcap had landed there. After all, Fluffington was already rich enough. He wouldn’t miss a few priceless jewels. Sure, Fluffington was upset now, but once he went shopping he’d quickly get over it.
Booger stared down at the jewels on the side of the hubcap. They winked up at him in the sunlight, as if to let him know they were in on his little secret.
Booger carried the hubcap up to his room. As he placed it on his desk he felt a kind of sick feeling in the pit of his stomach, but he dismissed it. There was no reason that Booger shouldn’t keep the silver disk for himself.
He plunked down on his bed and stared up at his ceiling, but the presence of the hubcap in the room seemed to loom over him. As he looked over at the disk, he felt as though the light sparkling off the jewels was starting to burn into him like a laser. Booger really was starting to feel sick to his stomach now. As he sat up on the edge of his bed, he knew what he had to do. The hubcap didn’t belong to him. He had to return it to Fluffington.
Booger walked up slowly up the path to Fluffington’s mansion. As soon as he had made the decision to give the hubcap back, he felt as though a weight had been lifted from him. But as he stood here now, outside Fluffington’s front door, he was nervous about facing the St. Bernard with his missing belonging. A part of Booger just wanted to leave the hubcap at the door and walk away, but a part of him felt he should deliver it to Fluffington in person.
