Choose Your Own Story – Booger Returns the Disk
Fluffington was so overjoyed to have his jewel-encrusted hubcap back that Booger knew he had done the right thing. He grinned as Fluffington danced around, holding the disk to his chest. Then, just as Booger was about to leave, Fluffington stopped him.
“Wait a second, Booger,” he called. “I want to give you something.”
Fluffington looked down at the hubcap and reached for a large green emerald – the largest gem on the hubcap! Then he paused for a moment and, as if thinking better of it, instead grabbed a small red jewel, plucked it from the hubcap and handed it to Booger.
“A token of my gratitude.” Fluffington stated as he handed the scarlet gem to an awestruck Booger.
Booger happily clutched the small ruby and started back home. He knew that his feeling of elation came not just from his newfound wealth, but from the knowledge that he had behaved honorably. He couldn’t have lived with himself had he kept the hubcap, knowing that it didn’t truly belong to him.
As Booger was walking over a tall hill in Kinzville Park, he was so engrossed in the glistening jewel in his hand that he wasn’t watching where he was going. He tripped over a root sticking up from the ground and as he tumbled forward, he watched the red gem fly from his hand and spin through the air. It sailed over the side of the hill and out of sight. Booger stumbled to his feet and ran to the edge of the hill. He stared down at the bushes and tall grasses below but he couldn’t see a thing. How would he ever find a tiny little red stone in that wild tangle of shrubbery? Booger was crestfallen.
