Pink dog, pink cat and pretty peacock. All for girls. Peacocks are supposed to be male, but this one is called pretty, has a purple fluff head and light purple legs. Girl pets. I said in a later page, when is there going to be a boy only pet??

I did not write that above comment about Chemical Romance. Love them. I as a boy would not buy pink. Girls can buy any color pet they want, but i can’t. Look at it from my point of view. I’m not asking for olive green pets or whatever, just asking Ganz why does it seem so one-sided. It has to do with who buys the most and i guess it’s girls. Why would they make pink, sparkly pets if people didn’t buy them. You’re right, there is no such thing as boy’s only pets because girls can buy, display, play with any color pet and have it be socially acceptable. DOes it make more sense from a boys’ view? Hope so. :D

Lizard, Look at the top of this page and you’ll see Kinzapedia. Click on it. It takes you to a page that has every single webkinz pet. You will see that there are just as many boy-pets as girl-pets. Besides, why would you make a boys-only pet? Girls would still buy it even if it was something like a spider or a slug.

I totally agree with you, Another Un-Girly Girl. Webkinz are making abnormal animals that don’t even exist. I mean, some of them are okay but the other ones . . . For example, the Blueberry Cheeky Dog, dogs aren’t blue! Some more “out of this world” animals include, the Cream Soda Pup and the Magical Retriever, that is just plain scary.
I have the cream soda pup, and I think it’s adorable! It’s not scary, it’s pink! I can understand guys not liking it, but you don’t have to say it! There are plenty of webkinz guys would enjoy, like a bat, lizard, snake, dogs… the list goes on and on!

In the world of birds the male is the colorful one because it has to lure the predators away from the mother and the eggs. The mommy is brown or grey so it can blend in. Just a little food for the thought!
Thanks, we males, as humans aren’t the “pretty” ones. Boys aren’t usually “pretty.” I know I’m not and would not be ok with being called that. Peacocks are awesome, just not for a human boy to buy and tell their friends they have it. It is obviously different for peacocks than humans.

I disagree. I wish it was true, but it doesn’t seem like Ganz is heading in that direction. I mean, even a year ago their pets were more unisexual. Now they are much more unrealistic, therefore making them much more feminine (ex.- an orange puppy with flowers, a green and purple peacock with lavender feet, a fluffy dog with pink legs). Although i’m not a male, I wish they would bring back pets that would work well for BOTH genders. Oh, and i’m sorry to break it to some of you, but there aren’t any “boy only” animals. Snakes, lizards, rhinos- those could all be played with by girls, and be socially acceptable among them. While on the other hand, there ARE girl-only pets, such as the ones that I described above. So although there is no such thing as a boy-only pet, they need to have ones that are more gender-neutral. Especially since they have boy-friendly themes in the W-Shop!

I’ve got Bubbles a Pinktastic Peacock and she’s beautiful. I love all the pink and I love the Peacock. I think I might get this one and make it a boy. It is blue after all. There are plenty of Webkins for boys. Lizards,horses, gorillas,etc,etc,etc, I have them myself. It doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or girl to have a great pet of any color. Even a pretty Peacock.
But, vjr2000, it IS a male peacock and not a peahen. With peafowl, as with many other birds, the males have the brighter, prettier plumage.

To let u know that peacock is a MALE! The males have much brighter feathers. The females have dull feathers. And a lot of the webkinz r not girly some are pink but, boys can like pink.

I don’t exactly like the actuall design but I like the colors. Atleast it isn’t overflowed with pink. I love pink but even I can get done with it. It has a combination of all the colors. Boy and Girl. Green and Blue and Pink and Purple. I think what will tick boys off is the actual animal. The animal is a peacock- a typical girl lovers animal. Cute, but not enough for most people. I have to say, I most likely won’t be purchasing this pet anytime soon. -Silverstar
