Backyard: Before & After

Today Elwin and I got to try landscaping – and I think it went pretty well! We actually consulted with Fluffington (who know everything there is to know about fancy plants) before we designed the Rabbit family’s backyard. Elwin and I knew we didn’t want to make their yard as extravagant as Fluffington’s, but we did want to have an area just for the grownups – and an area for the kids.

First, here’s the old backyard:

We’ve got a fountain, a quiet bench (perfect for reading), and, of course, we added in a swing set and slide for the new baby! What do you think?

Well said Webbie Mom!!! I completely agree! I was expecting a scenic outdoor environment perfect for the kids and the adults. A barbeque would be cool and maybe some more trees and flowers. The elephants could have done better but it will be ok for the Rabbit family.

its okay but they totally need a new slide and swing set. They should put back the carrot garden… I would also bring back the green house. :) <3 that kaitlyngirl.

I also think a fountain is pretty but useless in a family yard, why not put a swimming pool in that corner instead with a fence around it but leave and do a small table by the bench so the parents can have coffee while supervising the baby in the yard.

It’s fine. I think they can do better though.

Wow I asked to see a bathroom, nursery and backyard and you guys did it :-) Now MDI and I are just waiting to see the basement for Roberta. As far as the backyard goes, it’s ok. I think the slide and swing set go fine together they both have yellow and red and are bright, great for a new baby. I don’t think there should be any more flowers unless they are behind a fence as they are just going to attract the baby to pick them anyway. I would have liked to seen a pool and the adult area on one side of the yard separated by a fence of course to keep little bunnies out and a table is a great idea, but I like it. Good job H & E! Now show us the basement!!! Robyn
