BOO! Are you scared yet?

Congratulations to Hippoopi, shellybrayley, DarkshineLaufeyson, anneca1963 and fancielle, the winners of our Vampire Kitten writing contest! They’ve each been emailed a Secret Code for an eStore exclusive Vampire Kitten. We wanted to hear stories about how the Vampire Kitten tried to scare someone…and failed miserably! Check out the winning entries below.

 

 

It was Halloween and the little Vampire Kitten decided to scare some people. First he tried scaring some witches but they just said, “Trick or Treat!” and laughed. The Vampire Kitten then tried to scare some ghosts and failed. The Vampire Kitten tried over and over again and every time the people said, “Trick or Treat!” then laughed. The Vampire Kitten was confused because he didn’t understand what Halloween was and he didn’t see what was so funny about his snarls and sneak attacks. Just as the Vampire Kitten was about to give up and go home, he saw a person wearing a black cape. He went up and gently tugged on the cape. The person’s arms flew up in the air and he turned around really fast. The kitten had started to laugh but stopped suddenly because he realized he had just tried to scare a REAL vampire, fangs and all. The Vampire Kitten was so scared he ran and flew home as fast as possible, back to the safety of his mother’s hugs. - Hippoopi

 

 

The Vampire Kitten was making scary faces in the bathroom mirror. She thought she was very scary! She even scared herself a little! She decided that it was time to frighten someone else. So off she went to Kinzville’s Freaky Forest and hid under the Phantom Toll Bridge like a troll. As she waited for someone to cross the bridge she looked around and noticed how scary the Freaky Forest really was when she was alone! She noticed that the clouds were starting to cover the sun and it was getting really dark around her. She was sitting under the bridge shaking with fear when she heard footsteps upon the bridge and a Big Loud Scary voice said: “Fee Fi Foo Fum who do I smell under the bridge trying to scare someone ?” Well the Vampire Kitten was so shaken with fear that she flew all the way home! On top of the bridge was the Friendly Monster and he looked confusingly at the Vampire Kitten and thought to himself “Hmmm I wonder what made that Vampire Kitten into such a Scaredy Cat?” - shellybrayley

 

 

Rune the Vampire Kitten narrowed his eyes. He folded his wings against his pelt. He crept forward towards the small ring of Webkinz pets, keeping well aware of his paws and setting them down gently. A square of moonlight filtered in through the small window and reflected off of his fangs. Rune smirked to himself and curled his lip, hearing their soft murmuring as they huddled together, becoming more and more frightened of the house. “Just one more step…” he thought to himself. Suddenly, a shadow loomed in front of him from behind, and Rune’s fur bristled. He crashed forward, screeching in fear. The other Webkinz looked at him, surprised and even a tiny bit startled. Rune whipped around, but there had been no one there! It had been only his shadow that had scared him. The other pets began to giggle. Rune at first took offense, but then realized it was okay for even him to be frightened. A sheepish grin lit up his face, and he joined in with their harmonious laughter.  - DarkshineLaufeyson

 

 

It was a dark and stormy night… “The perfect night to scare someone!” thought the vampire kitten, as she crouched in the shadows of the creaky old porch. She sat silently, with her eyes closed and wings folded, and waited for pets to walk by. When some came on the porch, she opened her eyes and wings and let out a terrific yowl! The pets stopped, but didn’t scream in terror. They just patted her on the head and said “Aww, poor little kitten must be cold” and ran laughing into the house. She crept back into the shadows and thought “It will work next time.” All night pets came by with the same result. Tired and sad, she turned to leave but then heard everyone coming out at once. “My last chance” she thought, as she closed her eyes and turned to face the door. The doors opened and she opened her eyes… and screamed. As ghosts and goblins came pouring out, she ran but looked back at the sign above the door that read HALLOWEEN DANCE TONIGHT and thought “Why didn’t I check my calendar?!” - anneca1963

 

 

Violetta, the Vampire Kitten with the pretty purple eyes, was tired of everyone always saying how cute she was. So, she decided she’d scare them good! So she climbed up the tallest tree in the yard. She smiled thinking how they’d scream and shriek when she pounced on them! So, she climbed up the trunk with her sharp little claws. And then she crept along the first and largest branch. Then Fancy, a Pink Zebra, walked under the branch! Violetta got ready to pounce. But then she slipped and almost fell off the branch! “Mew!” She cried. “Mew! Mew! Mew!” And Fancy looked up at the cute little kitty. “Oh! Poor little thing! I’ll help you!” And Fancy carefully lifted the little kitten from the branch and set her safely on the ground. “See?” Fancy asked. “It’s all better now!” But Violetta continued to cry and cry. “What’s the matter?” Fancy asked. Violetta sniffled and said: “I wanted to scare you!” And Fancy laughed and laughed. - fancielle

    Congrats winners! In my story I tried to have a happy ending for the Vampire Kitten but I guess I should of just stuck with VK being sad.

    Oh wow! This was my first contest I ever entered on Webkinz, I am surprised! I’m really happy I won this one because I adore cats. My webkinz name speaks it, ha. Darkshine is my Warriors cats name.

    Wow, I’m so excited that I won! Congratulations to Hippoopi, shellybrayley, DarkshineLaufeyson and fancielle too. Your stories were all great! So was yours Umgrilledcheese :) I had the idea for the story but it was hard to make it work in only 1000 characters. I hope everyone liked it. I’m not sure what i will name the kitten but I do know it will be a girl. Any suggestions?

    Aw, mine didn’t make it. ———————– The sidewalks were flooding with very eager trick-or-treaters. There were Bats dressed as ghosts, Black Cats as witches, Pumpkin Pups as clowns; the whole nine yards! But this story focuses on one in particular, the Vampire Kitten. Ducking into the bushes at the corner of Fright Street, he looked around for oncoming ‘targets’. That’s when he spotted a group of Candy Corn Mice dressed in various costumes from the Queen of Hearts to dinosaurs. None of them seemed to be paying attention as they shuffled through their newly collected goodies. 1… 2… 3! With flapping wings, the Vampire Kitten flew from his hiding place, letting out the loudest vampire-like hiss he could muster up; fangs and all. It first started as a group of smiling faces, which turned into even larger grins and then soon there was a chorus of laughs. They weren’t supposed to be laughing! One mouse dressed in a candy corn witch costume spoke up between her fits of laughter, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I was a really good try, I swear. It’s just… you’re soooo cute!” Even though the Vampire Kitten didn’t manage to scare the group of mice, he made some really awesome friends who promised to help him pull off the biggest scare next year.
