Holly was so excited. “Only 24 days to presents!” She jumped out of bed, landing on the soft moss floor. It was so quiet. Too quiet. Something was missing! She turned till she was a whirling blur with moss flying up all over her pretty red and white stripes. “Oh NO! my jingle is gone,” she whispered. Gently she shook her bell, hearing nothing. “I had the best jingle of anyone.” She knew what she had to do. She had to go retrace her steps from yesterday. Holly gobbled down her breakfast, dressed and ran out of the house. “Holly, honey, I was hoping you could help me with the shopping today,” came a plea. “Can’t, busy!” Holly searched Kinzville. “Oh hi, Holly, you decided to help me?” Holly cried, “I lost my jingle!” Mom said, “Jingles are invisible. Holly, we are Helpful Dragons. The joy we have fills our bells, giving out a joyful jingle. True joy comes from helping others.” Holly carried Mom’s bags home then washed up. Mom thought she heard the tiniest jingle. “It’s a start.” - appleblossomrose
The Holiday Helper Dragon woke up with a start
something was wrong, she knew in her heart.
She looked in the mirror and her legs turned to jelly
‘Cause she’d lost all the lovely red stripes on her belly!
She rushed ’round the room, unsure what to do
she must find her stripes or her life would be through.
Were they covered in dirt, she wondered at first?
So she scrubbed and she scrubbed but just felt even worse.
Her body was green everywhere now it seemed.
“Oh where have they GONE?!” she whined and she screamed!
Then she got an idea, a good one she thought,
“I’ll rub on the peppermint canes that I bought.”
So she took out a few of the candies with care
and breathed out some flame so they’d melt everywhere.
Then she laid on the puddle of each red and white line
and let them dry on her scales till they looked truly fine.
Then after that day she smelled rather dandy
and she never again lost her stripes made of candy.

Holly Belle was worried about her family’s holiday tree trimming party. As the youngest member of the Dragon clan, it was her task to make and place the tree topper. In the past she had made blazing stars, delicate dragon angels and glistening icicles. This year she had made a festive butterfly, but it appeared to have “flown” away. She could not find it! Her mother came into her room to help her get ready for their guests. She fastened Holly Belle’s headpiece to one of her ears and told her she looked very festive indeed. Holly Belle glanced at a mirror as she left her room and smiled broadly. All was not lost – she DID have a tree topper! She joined her clan in the Holiday Cavern where they were singing, laughing and drinking traditional dragon punch. The dragons greeted her with holiday roars and hoisted her up on their shoulders. Holly Belle unfastened her headpiece – a giant candy-cane striped bow that looked very much like her lost butterfly – and proudly placed it on the tree. - Aroma
Holly the Dragon loved being a Holiday Helper. She enjoyed the tools – long, thin, delicate screwdrivers, heavy, satisfying hammers, wrenches of all types. She found small bits endearing, nuts, bolts, screws, and nails were like her own type of candy. Right now, she was assembling a rocking horse, carefully applying a long thin line of glue to the top of the neck before pressing yarn against it and holding, counting to thirty. Popping the plastic eyes into their holes, she reached for the screwdriver to tighten the saddle into place. But the screwdriver wasn’t in its place, and when Holly looked about, she couldn’t see it anywhere. Flicking her tail in agitation, she noticed that the end of it looked just like a flat head screwdriver. Perking up and grabbing her own tail, she used the end to tighten the saddle fastenings. Placing the completed toy in the “outgoing” bin, she went off to borrow a screwdriver until her own turned up. - wintergreene
Minty the Holiday Helper Dragon woke with a start one night near Christmas. There was something important she was missing, but what? The thought hit her like that group of crashing rookie reindeer she was training yesterday, and she ran downstairs to tell Mrs. Claus. “Why are you up so late, Minty?” Mrs. Claus asked kindly. “Well,” Minty replied, “I’ve lost something important. Do you know where it is?” Before Mrs. Claus could answer, Minty was gone, racing to the place she was sure she last left it: Santa’s sleigh. Once she arrived, she started digging through the huge pile of presents. After a few hours of tireless digging, Minty had found it. Clutched in her paws was her very own Webkinz tag, with her secret code. Santa’s voice bellowed behind her, “Ho ho ho, would you look at who it is. How would you like to help on Christmas?” Minty beamed and nodded quickly. On Christmas Eve, Minty placed her tag under a little girl’s tree, hoping the girl would have a wonderful Christmas, too. - CaramelKisses33

WOW! I can hardly believe it! What a great WW Christmas present; thanks, Ganz. So many name ideas, which to choose?! Hey, everyone, please help me choose a name. Holiday (Holly); Jingles; Peppermint/ Patty or Paddy; Spearmint; Wintermint; or Garland?! What do y’all like best? Merry Christmas, everybody!
Sally Webkinz, how long do we have to redeem our codes? I’m dithering over names!
You should be fine :) It’s not going to expire.
Whew! Glad to hear that! I may wait ’til Christmas Eve to adopt him/her. Thanks.
I don’t know…I like all of your names! Hmm…I particularly like Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintermint, and Holly. How about Holly Day (Holiday)?
Thanks, BrightnSinging2Carrots; I’m currently leaning towards Spearmint, but can’t make up my mind!
Thank you, Webkinz, for another creative writing contest. And thank you so much for the Holiday Helper Dragon. I am one happy skunk! Holiday hugs from your friend Aroma.
