Polly’s Birthday Banner

Roberta here with another great craft for Polly’s upcoming surprise party. Today, we’re going to make a recycled paper banner from scraps in my scrap paper box. Here’s what you need:

Scraps of paper (different colors), string or yarn, glue stick, scissors, drinking glass, pencil

Here’s what you do:

  1. Trace the drinking glass on each scrap piece of paper.
  2. Cut out all the circles.
  3. Glue two circles, back to back, on the yarn (sandwiching the yarn in the middle). Space your pairs of circles about two inches apart.
  4. Let the glue dry.

When the glue is dry, hang up your banner!

I’s bright and colourful but perhaps a little someting in between, like a ‘Happy Birthday’ – perhaps written on each dot in a glittering ink – something to stand out – but well done

Eight more days until the party. Do you think everyone can keep a secret that long?. jennifer

Wow, Jennifer! I never thought of how many people need to keep this secret for such a long time!! You are right: it will be amazing if THAT happens! All the best! MDIChickadee

Wow! What a fun craft! I *hope* it all works out for Polly’s party, Roberta. She does not want one … but maybe what you are doing will be accepted in the spirit in which it is offered. All the best! MDIChickadee

I kinda like it. There should be Happy Birthday on it. But I still don’t think Polly will like this surprise birthday party.

Hope the party will be great! ;) The banner is a little bland if you ask me. It would be really cool if you cut out different shapes and wrote ‘Happy Birthday Polly’ on them. Good idea Azula Tiger! I think that they should have some Polly Pepperoni pizza. Its like a plain pizza with Polly spelled in pepperoni. LOL, I know, wierd! ~KK♥

I agree. Maybe there could be different types of letters 2 jazz it up. Like print, cursive, block, bubbly, etc. ~Lemon*Starburst~

Cute banner! But it does look kind of bland. :S Maybe you could use different shapes and decorate them with glitter glue, or layer other shapes on top of those circles. You could even cut out five other small circles and glue them behind one of the circles to make a flower! Another cool thing you could do is tie multicolored string to the circles by punching a hole on their ends. ;) At least, that’s what I would do. :) ~~Mockingjay*

You could write a letter of “Happy Birthday Polly!” On each circle. Ninja
