You know, normally I LOVE Thanksgiving. It’s usually my mom and dad and Uncle Arte and I at our house, eating lots of delicious foods (especially pumpkin pie) and celebrating together.
Since my parents are leaving this year for a vacation (WITHOUT me), I’m really NOT looking forward to Thanksgiving. My Uncle Arte keeps trying to tell me that we’re going to have fun, and that he has all this great stuff planned…but it’s not the same. I bet he doesn’t even know how to make a pie.
I invited Stoogles to join us for part of our ‘dinner’ (probably pizza or something). Maybe he’ll make Thanksgiving a little more fun this year.
Sparky, None of this would have happened if you hadn’t listened in. (Well, you would still be with your Uncle Arte.) But maybe you can go with Stoogles at one of his dinners.

Aww, Sparky, don’t be so sad. You always say how much your Uncle Arte is one of your favorite relatives, he’s so smart and you guys like the same things. Stoogles can be a big help, too. I bet dinner will be fine, and you have a great day together. It might not be what you are used to, and not the vacation trip you were expecting, but give it a chance and I bet you have fun.
I’m so sorry, Sparky. Both you and Salley are having a hard time right now. And you’re right; it isn’t going to be the same this year. I wish your parents hadn’t planned their anniversary celebration over Thanksgiving. It sounds like your Uncle Arte is going to do his best to make it fun, though.

Seriously, Arte is cool, and I’m sure he planned something. Stoogles is going to be totally sick eating all that food! I remember one time at camp, there was a feast, only I wasn’t hungry, so after I ate what I could, I was bored waiting for others to finish, and it was hot outside, and my awesome camp counselor and I jumped in the pool with our clothes on!
Sparky your uncle is AWSOME! I know you’ll have fun just try to have a good attitude!
Sparky, try to think positively on this one. You don’t have to make a pie for Thanksgiving–you can go to the w-shop and buy one–I know it doesn’t taste the same but it’s better than nothing! And even if you have pizza for Thanksgiving, it’s not about the food–it’s about being thankful for things like family, friends, and, well yes, food! But pizza tastes good, doesn’t it?
Sparky, I know how bad you must feel about this, but try to have a positive attitude. If you keep thinking you’ll have a bad time, you probably will. If you think positively, i’m sure it will turn out just great! So, anyway, I think you’ll have a happy Thanksgiving. Have fun!!! -Firebird
