Dr. Quack Sings!

Have you ever been so nervous that you’ve had butterflies in your stomach? Well, that happened to me today. It was finally my turn to audition for Kinzville Sings! And boy, was I ever panicky.

I know I’m a pretty good singer – ever since I was a duckling, everyone has said, “Quincy, you sing better than 90% of the ducks out there!” But what about the other 10%? They’re the ones I always worry about.

Anyway. Back to my audition.

I took to the stage and looked out at the judges nervously. I introduced myself (I think they all knew who I was), and I told them I was going to sing a rock song.
Several of them giggled. The others looked like they were trying really hard not to.
OK, so maybe I don’t LOOK like a rock star (although I WAS wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt), but I kind of sound like one.

Anyway, I sang the song as well as I could. I even threw in a few dance moves! And guess what? Suddenly, the judges didn’t look like they were going to laugh anymore. No! In fact, they looked really, really…impressed!

I wasn’t nervous at all when I finished – and especially not after I got a standing ovation. I don’t know for sure, but I think I just might stand a chance in this competition after all!
