What is wrong with Webkinz World these days? The Bad Gateway message is now constantly coming up, not only on the Newz, but in Webkinz World itself. Yes, I’ve tried jumpong through all the usual hoops, don’t even ask!
For me too. Is there any plans to fix this Ganz?
I’ve found that if I get the Bad Gateway page all I need to do is hit the refresh button and it works itself out. My system is getting a bit aged so that could be part of the issue. It’s harder for ‘granny’ to get on the internet superhighway!
Ive been getting that ‘bad gateway’ all the time too and is so annoying!! also, now ive been getting this glitchy black bar in the middle of my screen on webkinz newz! i hope it will be fixed soon :(
Yes! The glitchy black bar has been happening for me for the past few days too! There is one sitting just to the left of my comment bar as I type this. Again, I’m glad I’m not the only one. I sure hope that someone knows what is going on, and is able to fix whatever the problem is.

It really is. I’m wondering what themes some of the other items are from. I can tell some are Teddy Bear ones but not quite sure of the others.
I loved all the items in the Flower Collection, but it’s a little depressing to see that all the other items, like this new window, are in the EStore or you have to buy them with real money. I do not be grudge those that can buy them, I just wish some of these more beautiful room items could be bought with KidzCash. It’s really not fair to have some items from a room collection only available to those who have the money for the EStore or Deluxe membership. It just makes me sad.

I completely agree. I am also very sad that most of the new themes they are coming out with also have to be bought with Epoints. I love the Teddy Bear theme but cannot buy it because I simply don’t have the money to spend on Epoints or even a Deluxe account. I really wish more aspects of the game would be geared towards people who don’t have the ability to use actual money on the game. I remember playing Webkinz years ago (before 2004 when I stopped playing) and I don’t remember having to buy Epoints for things. :(
How did you stop playing Webkinz in 2004 when Webkinz didn’t even start until 2005?

I know how discouraging it can be if you don’t have a budget for estore points, ~alucard. I played the game for a couple of years before I was able to try deluxe or ever spend a penny in the estore. I love the game with or without the extra perks. One of the things that makes Webkinz World so awesome is all of the free amazing items that they give away. I have loved designing so many fabulous rooms, creatively filled with stuff I bought with the KC I earned or with items that I won on the wheels or received through floatie-clickys, etc. I discovered that you don’t need to spend money on estore items to make the game experience great. It only enhances an already wonderful gaming experience! The difference for me has been patience. Purchasing estore points has, for me, been the difference between getting something right now, versus patiently waiting to see what amazing free items will come my way. I had received many wonderful things for free, that I later found out (when I finally went to the estore) were items that went for thousands of estore points. I am continually surprised and pleased by all of the fantastic free stuff that WW lavishes on their players! Don’t be depressed. Just look at it differently -with patience, and gratitude! I totally agree with you @Beckinz8. We have to look at it in a new light. How would Ganz make money without us paying for e-store points? Sure we buy Webkinz but not always from them. Sometimes from amazon, or from a store that bought a shipment from Ganz. That is one of the main ways they get money, and we can’t hold a grudge on them for it.

I know it’s sad that many cool items are for EStore points, but Ganz needs to make money somehow. Back when Webkinz first started, Ganz was making a lot more money from people buying Webkinz plush toys in the stores so the EStore was not really a big thing. But now that the “Webkinz craze” has died down, the company has changed where they make the majority of there money. Having the EStore and ADs on Webkinz World are the things keeping the site alive.
Many thanks to all who replied with positive encouragement! Yes, I do understand that Ganz needs to make money, but they also need to keep people interested in playing Webkinz! I started playing Webkinz in 2009. Fell in love with it! Due to a family members failing health, I stopped playing in 2014 and just started playing again last year. I was very very disappointed when I saw that there were WShop items that I had at one time bought with KidzCash, were now either for Deluxe Members only or for those using ePoints. They even took away Arcade games that “everyone” could play, but made them for Deluxe Only. My biggest issue with Ganz/WebKinz is the fact that they “took away” what was once for ALL members who purchased a plush pet, and are now for “Deluxe Only”! Make new items and new games for Deluxe Only or eStore points, but PLEASE don’t take away what was once fun for ALL Webkinz Players. I’m just asking for Ganz to be fair! I love decorating my rooms with what I can buy using my KidzCash. I enjoy the games I can still play. But…I miss the games that I can no longer play (except when they are the “Game of the Day” and we all CAN play them). I loved Get Eleven Solitaire, Zingoz Pop, and Eager Beaver Adventure Park, and use to play them all the time, but can’t now because I am not “Deluxe”. I do not be grudge Ganz making Deluxe only items and games. Just don’t take away the games and items that were once for everyone. And, please…remember….we non-Deluxe members buy new codes every year just to stay on WebKinz. Put your plushies back in the stores for us to buy! Bring back the eStore points cards! I use to buy them at Best Buy or Game Stop. Can’t find them anywhere! Sorry! I’ve been trying not to complain so much. Forgive me. It’s just that this new Weathered Window is so cute and I would love to have it, but can’t because it’s not for everyone. It’s just disappointing and discouraging. Not to worry. I’ll get over it. I still LOVE playing in Webkinz World! *hugs!*
Hi ~alucard! You probably won’t see this, but I agree with you! I never knew that Get Eleven Solitaire, and Eager Beaver Adventure Park didn’t used to be deluxe only games. That’s terrible! Things should never be taken away. New and different things should be added for deluxe. And when it comes to buying the plushies, I feel your pain. All of the stores where I used to carefully select the specific webbie that I wanted to adopt have all stopped carrying Webkinz. It’s sad, and frustrating, because the webbies I order online don’t make the same kind of connection. It’s hard to explain, but each one really does have it’s own little quirks that make it unique – a lop-sided ear, a tilt to the head, etc. You can only hand-select what appeals to you when you see them up-close-and-personal in the store. I’m going to take the advice of the Ganz team, and respectfully request (bug!) my local Hallmark store to carry them. You are not alone ~alucard!
