I have some good news to share… We’ll be releasing a new room theme in the W-Shop and it’s up to you to decide which one! Similar to what we have done in the past, you’ll have 3 options to choose from. Mike, one of our talented artists here at Webkinz headquarters, has created a concept drawing to represent each theme. You’ll need to use these concepts to decide which one to vote for on March 11th. The theme that receives the most votes will be released in the W-Shop, for KinzCash, on May 8th.
You had the opportunity to vote for the Painted Glass room theme in the past, but this time around, you’ll also have the Playful Ponies & Cotton Candy Kitchen room themes to choose from. Here’s a look at the concept drawings with a short description of each theme:
Make sure you look over each concept drawing carefully, becauseĀ once the winning theme has been decided, the concept drawing will be used as inspiration for the rest of the items that will be included in the theme.
You’ll also want to check Webkinz Newz often once the results are announced. We will be releasing concept drawings of each item as they are being created. You’ll also have the opportunity to comment on each one and offer your ideas and feedback before the final items are created.
Want to see more of Mike’s work? Mandy and I interviewed him on Podkinz Episode 101 when we released the Garden Oasis room theme in June. We also interviewed Mike on Podkinz Episode 110 when we released the Christmas Cabin room theme.
Do you know which theme you’ll be voting for on March 11th? Let us know by leaving a comment in the section below…
I cannot wait to see which theme wins. For sure I’ll vote for the Painted Glass theme. It seems like it has a chance of winning. I would enjoy seeing what furniture items are made for it. I think it should include living room and dining room furniture, but for whatever furniture it does not include we could mix it with the PSI’s for the birthstone pets and other gemstone items.
I don’t mind any of these winning, it’s time for something fresh and new in the wshop! I do wish though that it wasn’t always in pink, blue and purples. There are other fun color combos… blue, green and yellow. Blue, orange and yellow. Pink, orange and yellow. (Hmm, sounds like i like yellow lol.)
The Painted Glass theme says it will include “glass furniture that would be painted in a variety of bold colors.” Maybe that would include a bold orange like a topaz color and a bold green color. It won’t be all blue.
That theme would look beautiful in gem tones, wouldn’t it? Or in sea glass colors?
Great ideas..KUDOS Mike :) I am sure we all have TONS of the current theme items ..that if you do retire one, we should have some in our docks or rooms (I know a few years back, I made a room for EACH theme available in the WSHOP..it was so much fun!! ) OOOO an idea for Michael for some of his room design ideas..Make a room with WSHOP theme only ;) now that would be fun fun fun
Oooh we love the Playful Ponies! The craze seems to be cute and fluffy, squishy things, with pastel rainbow colors, or gem toned rainbow colors, unicorns and adorable-ness, and sparkles, and glitter, and fun! I love this theme because there was a time in the ’80s where there was a cutesie theme similar that you’d see in stationery, keychains, socks, you name it. As with most fads, they cycle back, and I love this one, as does my tween daughter.
Although the concept art resembles a pinata, or birthday theme, or donkey with huge ears.
I like the idea of a baking theme, but the pink and blue spring theme just doesn’t scream bakery to me. Check out the “Grace” American girl themed bakery and see what that’s like. Teal or “seafoam” is very popular these days, with some Eiffel tower decor, pastry displays and carts.
One other comment/idea … You have never done an old fashioned ice cream parlor or soda fountain that I know of, or even Italian style pizza shop with brick oven. Those would be highly desirable to me!!!
Cotton Candy Kitchen is great!
Probably Cotton Candy Kitchen. I already have a room with that name. It has all of the different kinds of candy that I’ve collected over the years.
Me too! Also, I love your username ^-^
The cotton candy looks pretty awesome! Although I like the unicorn, it does look a little tacky. Sea glass also looks nice.
Sadly I don’t like any of the choices. Pink and Blue are common furniture colors and the furniture (to me) looks tacky. I wouldn’t buy any of these.
I like the Playful Ponies theem the best
Cotton Candy Kitchen has my vote
