Competition Crops vs. Regular Crops

When you learn how you can use Competition Crops from your Farmer’s Plot to decorate your home, earn KinzCash, and maybe even win Ribbons, they’ll really GROW on you!

The first time you visited the Farmer’s Market, you would have noticed something new in your Dock. Each player receives a Farmer’s Plot which you can place in your pet’s yard. You can plant up to 21 crops in your Plot. Tip: if you’re having trouble fitting all 21 plants, turn off Advanced Editing in your settings to distribute them evenly.

As you grow crops in your Farmer’s Plot, you may notice something else in your Dock. Because every time you harvest a plant from your Famer’s Plot, you have a rare chance of harvesting a Competition Crop.

A Competition Crop is a presentable version of that crop that you can place in your pet’s room to decorate your house. And that’s not the only thing that makes Competition Crops special.

Although they all look the same size in your Dock, when you place it in your home, Competition crops may grow! Crops can grow to different sizes, which makes them even more fun for decorating!

But there’s even more you can do with Competition Crops!

When the Farmer’s Market sets up in Kinzville on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, you can enter your crops into Competition! Every time you participate, you earn 50 KinzCash per crop just for entering.

If your crops win, you’ll be awarded collectable prize ribbons. There are different colored ribbons for each season of the year and they can be hung on your wall. If you win, you’ll get a message upon login the following day along with with your ribbon. Plus, your worldname will be displayed at the Farmer’s Market on the following market day for everyone to see!

Remember, Competition Crops are rare so be sure to plant and harvest in your Farmer’s Plot regularly to watch your chances of earning one GROW!

I do the love the garden but I REALLY wish you all would sincerely consider extending the time and extent a plants from 10 to 20. Frankly, I’m going broke trying to keep my garden considering that 10 is not a lot and you add in how much we are so very limited in how many seeds we can buy, it has been a losing proposition and frankly, it’s disheartening.

Do the crops grow only once when you put them in the room or do they keep growing every day?

    • sally says:

Their size is determined when they are harvested. They do not grow after harvest, but they ‘grow’ when you drag them in to a room to show their assigned size.

I love decorating with competition crops, but I really wish they could be displayed outside without needing to put them on a table. I’d love to be able to place pumpkins outside the front door!

I totally agree with you on that. The teams first mistake was the name for webkinz next and then they decided to have the games similar in items , games , etc. I guess webkinz next was struggling and they wanted the Classic players to build it up. I would rather a different game VS another Classic.

greetings! i have done NEXT every day since somewhere close to the beginning & have yet to win any of these prize ribbons. i check my farmer’s plot daily & enter when i get prize-worthy produce! mine only holds 12 crops. HELP, how do i fit in the 21 when it will not allow me? knowing this now has me a bit sick in my stomach. thx, best, k.

First empty your Farmer’s Plot. Then tap on the options menu at the top right and turn off Advanced Editing. Now you can drag into your Farmer’s Plot and fill all 21 spots as the crops “snap to grid”

I would love to be able to get a second Farmer’s Plot, because when I plant a garden, I plant 3 of every type of garden seed / crop that is available to us, and I still have an abundance of overflow crops that I’ve got to try and get planted in some semblance of organization. Not only that, but they are easier to plant in the Farmer’s Plot! LadyBeauty

    is it on classic too?

    • skylily says:

No, we don’t have it in Classic, but once in a while when you go to the W-Shop to buy food it appears mondo huge. Even when you put it in the appliances.

Question: how are the winners decided??? Is it a computer algorithm or is it a group of developers making the choice???

    • sally says:

Each of them have a range of sizes and get awarded points based on that. So if you have the largest sized strawberry, for example, it will beat out any other crop that is only at the middle of its size range.
