It’s that time again when we ask our talented players to submit their pet designs, and this year’s contest is doubly exciting! That’s because for the first time ever we’re asking you to submit your ideas for a pet that will be created in Webkinz Classic AND in Webkinz Next!
The winning pet will be available to purchase at Ganz eStore and the Classic WShop (Classic version) and in the Next Adoption Center (Next version) starting on Webkinz Day, April 29, 2024!
Pet submissions must fit into one of the following categories:
- four legged pets, like a dog or a cat
- knucklewalking pets, like an ape
- hopping pets, like a bunny or a frog
Bird and fish submissions will not be selected.
The winning designer will receive two virtual pets based on their design, one in Classic and one in Next. They will also receive a Pet Design Trophy. Ten finalists will each receive a virtual Webkinz Next Best Of Mystery Capsule, and a virtual Webkinz Classic Buttercup ?? Box.
Here’s how it works:
Between January 10 and 31, 2023 design a four-legged, knuckle-walking or hopping pet that you think would make a great addition to Webkinz Classic & Next!
You can use any kind of art supplies that you want – markers, pencil crayons, crayons, or other art materials. While we will not accept images that have computer generated patterns or graphics copied and added to them, participants may use programs like Paint or Photoshop to color and draw freehand. We can’t accept submissions with company logos or sports team emblems. Please make sure you save your images as a jpg, gif, or png.
You don’t need to include a suggestion for the pet’s PSI and PSF but you can if you want!
Submit your drawing to the Classic and Next Pet Gallery in the Share Center by January 31, 2024.
Then wait to see if your design is one of the 10 finalists.
Please note that while the Webkinz Next artists will use the winning design as inspiration for a new pet, the design may need to be adapted in order to work as a 3d pet.

This is off topic Sally Webkinz there seems to be a problem to play Webkinz Next. I am not able to log in The log in window appears my log in credentials are no longer appearing it is blank I entered the information doesn’t go further seems to be stuck just keeps playing music. I uninstalled/reinstalled the game still not able to log in Webkinz Play window appears PLAY with arrow Login with Existing Account not able to do so it seems to be stuck not given the opportunity to enter login credentials continues to play music doesn’t go any further then get Connection to Server Lost reconnecting nothing happens. I have tried several times with no luck. Any Suggestions?

I’ve been reworking my past designs lately and waiting on this announcement! However, I hate to say that I’m disappointed by the inclusion of the pet needing to be for both Classic and Next. I design all my pets for the Classic platform and I have some bird designs as well. Next pets just have very different designs, even as a Classic pet, which doesn’t sit well with me as my designs (as well as many others) prefer the designs to fit the Classic style altogether. Nothing against Next, as I enjoy playing it as well, but I feel like there should be separate contests that have players designing a Classic pet as usual and then, another contest that’s like this one. I’m not a fan of it being combined. I was so excited to finish my redesigns and some new ones I’ve thought of this year, but I don’t think I’ll be entering. Hopefully, next year they’ll return to the old contest description and take my suggest of making two contests: one for Classic and one for Classic/Next combined. A couple of ideas for pets would be another pixie pet with different antennae or a winged pet like a pegasus.
Is anyone else not able to log in to Webkinz Next? I can type the username and passwords in, but the “Play” button stays see through, so I can’t click on it to enter the game. It’s happening on my phone and my laptop. I uninstalled and reinstalled on my laptop and it still won’t work. I also get an occasional “Connection to Server Lost” message, but my internet is connected. I don’t know what else to try and I really want to play! Please help!
This issue has been resolved — you should be able to log in now.
Very excited for this! I have a question: Judging by the wording of the announcement, I assume that each individual person can submit only one pet to the contest? It wasn’t stated outright, so I just want to be sure.
