Updated: Design A Halloween Pet Contest!

UPDATE: While we will not accept images that have computer generated patterns or graphics copied and added to them, participants may use programs like Paint or Photoshop to color and draw freehand. We appreciate that not everyone has a printer and a scanner and we want to make sure the contest is open to everyone.

Halloween in June??? That’s right – because this is your chance to design a Halloween Pet which will be sold in Ganz eStore in the fall. To enter first choose one of six templates provided below: Cat, Snake, Bat, Owl, Rat/Mouse or Frog. Then let your imagination run wild as you create your ghostly masterpiece. When you’re done you upload your final product to the Share Center.

The winner will receive a virtual version of their winning entry, a brand new Pet Design Trophy plus a 1 Year Deluxe Membership. The nine runners-up will receive a 1 Month Deluxe Membership.

The contest runs from June 1-30, 2016 and the winner will be announced on July 15.

A few things to remember…

  • You can enter as many designs as you want!
  • Contestants MUST upload their work to the Design A Halloween Pet Gallery on the GanzWorld Share Center. Never uploaded to the ShareCenter before? Don’t worry! It’s easy. Just watch this video to see how it’s done!
  • You can use any kind of art supplies that you want. Feel free to use markers, pencil crayons, crayons, or other art materials. Go for it!
  • Please use the templates provided. Only entries with the 6 different pets will be accepted.
  • You don’t NEED to include ideas for this pet’s adoption gifts (PSI & PSF), but you can draw them if you want.
  • We can’t accept submissions with company logos or sports team emblems.
  • Please make sure you save your images as a jpg, gif, or png.

    My opinion is that I don’t believe any type of computer software is fair. I’ve seen a few entries that are computer and they’re great, but the gradients that are shown on them are very advanced (practically impossible to free-draw with those colors). The colors on photoshop/paint are of a wide array and the way you can use them on the computer (a.k.a choosing the “pressure” to use for color) is way easier than free handing. My friend is fantastic with photo shop coloring and drawing (she can easily “erase” mistakes and redo them without it looking messy), but can not draw details on paper. The Pandora Cub I hand drew for the last contest that took quite a while would have taken her no time at all to make on the computer. I hope Ganz takes this into consideration..

    You have a few different pets but the cat and the bat are already Halloween pets. Where is the spider everyone has asked for?

    I traced and edited the outlines on paint. I had to replace the feet with hooves and stuff like that. Can it still be entered? Thanks in advance

    Darn I forgot to say that the pattern on my design’s face is supposed to look like a radioactive sign! http://share.ganzworld.com/halloweenpet?id=34613 is there a way I can modify the description?

    This looks like it could be a lot of fun. I am not an artist but I just may enter a drawing or two. Can’t win if I don’t enter… :-}

    this is gonna be so fun! Also, just a question, do you want me to include names in the pics? Because some of mine I have names for. My question is do you want those included on paper.
