Dear Fiona, I was wondering if the webkinz moblie app could be update so if one of the games on the mobile arcade was the game of the day, then everyone could play that game for only that day. :) – webkinz0704

 

 

 

That’s a pretty good idea, webkinz0704. I’ll be sure to pass the suggestion on! Right now, you still earn the KinzCash if you are able to play a mobile game that happens to the Game of the Day, but it’s also important to note that some of the mobile games are not the same as on the Desktop or web version. For example, Tile Towers and Smoothie Moves are technically different games, so they don’t earn bonus KinzCash even if those games are the Game of the Day on web.

    Dear Fiona, I really like to experiment when I’m designing rooms but not everything works so I am often left with items from the estore that I can’t use. We used to be able to sell any of our items back to the wshop but you changed the policy. I really wish that Ganz would declare an amnesty day where we could trade and/or sell any of our items to our friends or back to the wshop. Just one day a year, like the November sale. It would help tremendously with the management of our rooms, and it would generate a lot of goodwill within and for our community. Thank you in advance for considering this. Traveller

      I LOVE this idea! I really dislike the fact that we can’t “sell/trade/mail” eStore items bought from the WShop or the EStore. We buy the points with our own money, yet can’t do what we want with the items. What is the big deal about not letting us sell/trade/mail these items? Is it because “children” MIGHT sell/trade/mail an “expensive” or “rare” item and become “upset”? Good Grief!!!! I bet there are more adults playing Webkinz than children!!! Please change your rules! Let us sell/trade/mail whatever we purchase with ePoints and from the EStore, with our REAL money!!! Besides, it’s all virtual, so what’s the big deal?

        I agree totally! Since I can’t send special items from my side accounts to my main account, it feels like I’m being punished for being a long time fan who just happened to make an account long before the Super Surprise Box or 3 day Deluxe Trial were a thing.

    On the subject of Best Friend cupcakes, what are all the flavors of cupcakes, and why do the descriptions say “send one to a friend”? Wouldn’t trading flavors with a friend (e.g. trading a Best Strawberry for a Best Banana, then trying to combine the banana with the Friend Strawberry) cause the recipe to fail?

    Bad gateway messages have not been this bead in a very long time. I thought the issue was fixed and the few I got was from my computer being older.

    Dear Fiona! Could YOU please PLEASE help us find out what the heck is going on with all the “Bad Gateway” messages today? It is REALLY messing up the Peek-a-Newz Contest! Every single time I get to finding the last bunny, the “Bad Gateway” message pops up and I CAN NOT go back to Webkinz Newz without closing my browser and opening it back up again and going back to Webkinz Newz, which means I have to start ALL OVER AGAIN!!! This seems to be happening more and more often lately. Would someone PLEASE let us know what is going on and WHEN will it be fixed? Help us, Fiona! You’re our only hope! ( Star Wars reference. ;-) ) Thank you, Fiona! :-)

      Also, could you PLEASE explain the differences between the web version of Smoothie Moves and Tile Towers, and their mobile versions? And, WHY do they have to be “different” games than on the web version? Doesn’t make sense to me. We should be able to play the games on mobile just like the web versions.

        I’m just a computer science university student, no affiliation with Webkinz, but I think I might have an idea. Porting a game from browser to mobile can mean changing a lot of the programming, since they are two completely different platforms, and also touching with your finger doesn’t work quite like clicking with a mouse. So it can be a real challenge (if not almost impossible) to update code so that it will work on two different platforms at the same time. Why Smoothie Moves needed a whole new version of the game but Cash Cow or Picnic didn’t, I can’t say. But I’ve also had many experiences programming where I solved a problem by changing something minor, and I couldn’t actually say what exactly the program was doing differently because of that change — on a program I made. It’s possible that the Webkinz programmers had to try a lot of things to solve a game-breaking glitch, and that was the first solution that actually helped, even though it wasn’t an ideal solution.

      Bad Gateway everytime you do anything. You really need an EASY way to report this kind of error,

      Try just refreshing the page when you get the bad gateway error. That works for me. It sometimes takes a few tries still, but better than losing your progress!

      *Sigh.* I think I might have a bad gateway comment curse. The first time I saw someone talking about it, I had to ask, “what is bad gateway?” Not five minutes later I got MY first Bad Gateway. An hour ago when I read machaela’s comment on the same subject, I thought, “Wow, I actually haven’t had a Bad Gateway in a while. I kind of forgot about those.” No sooner did I continue with Peek-A-Newz but I got one. And not just one. Where they had been an inconvenience before, the Bad Gateway messages became so prevalent that they made finishing Peek-a impossible, because the main page was gateway-ed. But it only happens right after I think about how I HAVEN’T had any Bad Gateways. *facepalm*

    The Bad Gateway message is worse than ever – I’ve cleared caches (both Safari and Chrome). I restart the browser and can use the site for a little bit before it happens again and all I then get is Bad Gateway – Interestingly it’s while I’m searching for the Peek-a-newz and have found 3 or 4 before I get the unending message. If I go back to the Events page I can get in but never can click on enough pages for the last bunny to show to claim the prize.

      I agree rach1794. I get that very often myself, and the same way. I find the peek 4 times, then it starts up and I have to just stop completely and do the whole thing again later. It’s very frustrating. And the general jerky motion of the whole game lately. I’m clicking on something and something else gets clicked on because of the jerky motion. It’s just been awful! I’m using the desktop version of the game, but it’s no better than anything else. Please Please fix this Ganz!

        DON’T go out and clear your cache! Just refresh the page. Sometimes it takes a couple times, but it always works for me and you don’t lose your counts on the Peek a Newz. On Safari, it is the little circular arrow at the end of the url bar (the one you type a web address in). Just click on it. Like I said, it might take more. All browsers have a refresh page button.

          Well right after I posted this I got a bad gateway message that wouldn’t clear with the refresh button. Sigh. Sorry for the bad info. It does works sometimes, though.

            The refresh normally works but not today – I found I could go to the Events page but then it’s as if I’ve signed in new – no new bunnies to click on and complete the quest. If I start the quest over I get to needing 1 more and then Bad Gateway and the cycle begins again. . .

          It’s kind of funny because I wasn’t getting any bad gateway messages until I started reading these comments, I guess I was jinxed! Haven’t finished Peek-a-Newz yet but hope I won’t run into the same issues as everyone else on my last one. Hope this is fixed first thing tomorrow, if not before.

      I think I’m on try 5 or 6 to get my peek-a news done. This is on all my accounts. Makes me sad. Hope it is fixed soon.

      I’m getting this issue as well when I was trying to finish Peek a Newz!! It’s very annoying!! I hope this gets fixed soon…

    Dear Fiona, I love shopping at the eStore! My favorite promotion is when you offer patio plants with purchases of eStore points. There are some that I would love to get, but they came out before I was a big eStore shopper. Do you think there could ever be a patio plant sale with your past plants, maybe for Deluxe Wednesday? I would buy so many of them (and then restock my points with the next patio plant promo)! Thanks! :)

      Ooo! I would LOVE a patio plant sale! There are so many that I wish I collected when I had the chance–but I wouldn’t want to take away from all of the wonderful new ones that have been coming out by bringing back a repeat plant for the promo. I like the idea, librarianandrea! My pets have been wanting to collect some things like “Just Peachy Cobbler” and “Baked Pear with Vanilla Sauce”.
