I do have a question as to how they random choose pics of rooms in the room designs are is it done in the room designs I have sent in so many and none drawn to show just curious. I just stopped sending.. cmsrockz
Thanks for your question, cmsrockz! I checked in with Michael Webkinz, and the room designs that he features aren’t random at all — he picks them! But he wanted to let everyone know that he doesn’t go through the ShareCenter — you’ll have to send all of your room designs to letsbuild@ganz.com if you want a chance to be featured.
I would like to know why the Pet of the month is always a new pet. I have 14 accounts that i take care of with over 700 pets, been a member since 2009 and in the beginning some of the pets i have were the pet of the month, but for the past year they are always the new pets. Hi, hockeyamma! The Pet of the Month is generally going to be a pet that we still have available for sale — otherwise, there’s not much hope for new players to get one to play with, too! We just don’t have many of the very old pets left in stock, so they’re not likely to show up as the Pet of the Month any time soon.

That would be fun, wouldn’t it! I will be sure to pass that suggestion along — but unfortunately right now there’s no way to start your collection over.

Dear Fiona: My father told me that Adobe Flash has just announced the end of flash player in 2020. I know that the flash player is a critical component of Webkinz. Is Webkinz doing something to make the transition so that the site can keep running? It would break my heart if I couldn’t see my Webkinz anymore!!
I would also like to note that I know very little about software–perhaps there aren’t any changes that you will need to make. I just wanted to know if anything would impact my ability to see my Webkinz.
An excellent question, I was also wondering what will happen then. From having my own websites I fear a complete redesign, as it isn’t easy to make these kinds of changes.
I saw this question somewhere here on Newz, and it was answered…not sure if it was Sally or Mandy…??? Anyway, the response was that Webkinz World would become an app the same way Amazing World is. I didn’t realize AW was an app…lol.
Now that we can (!!THANKFULLY!!) collect Floaties in our Rooms, is there any way our pets can stop making requests that will take us out of our Rooms? I ask because it seems to mess up the timing of the Floaties, even stopping them altogether. So for now, our only choice is to ignore those types of Pet Requests if we don’t want to log out/back in to reset the Floaties.
I’d like to see that. It’d be a huge help. Like, when you are in the room, in-room only requests, when you are out of the room, other Webkinz world requests. I hadn’t noticed it messing up the floating items but I see where that is a big issue. My problem is invariably I have just harvested or collected or otherwise stashed something in my dock and then the pet asks and I foolishly decide I can satisfy that demand…and then I lose whatever is in the dang dock because that New tab is not worth two cents. (Oh hai, that’s something I am desperately in need of getting tweaked…I ask you, what GOOD is that tab if things can’t stay there in it, say from the arcade or activities page to the room!!!?) Anything in the New tab should stay there during the entire ‘visit’ to accounts, no matter where you go or what you do! Another thing I would love to see, if we absolutely HAAAAAVE to resign ourselves to whiny, irritating, demands from pets, could we get an opt-out of some kind? It’s so unforgiving and sometimes you just can’t drop everything, as Elessar says. It’d be really nice to have a way of ‘communicating’ to the pet to ask again, or ask something else (but then, I don’t like pets using my name, either.) I also wish we could have pets awake in the avatar when they are asleep in their beds, like it used to be. Or well, if you would just GET RID OF THE SNORING. I am really glad to be able to have floating items in room — if we could just access the collection icons that way again? And a direct jump to Today’s Activities?
I have NOT liked the pet requests from the very beginning! It’s like babysitting whiny kids! However, the rewards for answering the pet requests have been great. One thing that could help with answering them, would be to stop having them timed. It’s so irritating to be in the middle of something and get the request, especially when you have to run and buy something, and then make it, and then the time runs out, or it doesn’t register! If you could just do the requests before you log out, it would be so much easier~..~
I don’t have much patience with grumpy pets but I discovered that they stop making requests when they’re sleeping so I put mine to bed if don’t want to be interrupted. It’s an easy fix. If your pet is awake, just ignore the request if you don’t feel like doing it. If they pout I put them to bed & play with a different pet.
I RESOUNDINGLY second your idea over items remaining in the ‘New’ tab for the entire visit – Many’s the time I’ve finished a challenge, received the prize and thought, ‘This’ll look great in the So-and-so Room!’, only to lose it in my dock when I go back to my Room. It’s too daunting to look for it, so I don’t bother. Really, there’s no point to this ‘New’ tab if it can’t retain the new items.
I have found if something has not gone to the ‘new’ tab as it should, i click on the tab it normally would be in (clothes, furniture, decorations, etc) then right away click back on ‘new’ and there it is. I don’t know why, but it works for me. Also, i use the ‘new’ tab to get back to the beginning of a section. Since the ‘new’ tab does not usually have much in it, it goes to the beginning, then i click on the section tab i need, and it too is at the beginning. If anyone has figured out how to get to the end of a section, i would love to know. I don’t care for the update on the dock either, especially the clothes and decorations. But, as long as the site works and my computer is not sick or dying, i can live with the changes. It’s when the site goes whacko or i think my computer is messing up – that’s when i go bananas! lol
I don’t understand. I never had a problem with the floaties coming in my room. I do agree with the pet demands. If there was an off switch for those who don’t want to participate with the requests, that would be nice, you know?
@Kittymade10 – I don’t have a problem with finding Floaties in my Room. It’s only when I leave my room to fulfill a Pet Request (such as spinning the WoW, doing a class at KA, etc.). Then, when I go back to my room to finish gardening/decorating/etc., no more Floaties. So, I have to log off/log back on to reset them.
This is kind of random, but I don’t know where else to put it. Has anyone else been having problems with the webkinz app? It just keeps saying something like “nuts and bolts have caused a problem. Let’s try that again.” Then it stays on a blue screen with paw prints and doesn’t load. I haven’t been able to use it for over a week now. I even tried deleting it and downloading it again. I hope it’s not my phone that’s having a problem.
Hey cmsrockz and emiemiemiemiemi, I’m sorry you guys are getting frustrated waiting to have a room shown. It can be really aggravating while you wait, especially when you see other people’s rooms that are incredibly similar to something you submitted being chosen. (That has happened to me a lot). I feel I’ve been really lucky in having rooms shown but I have to tell you that there have been times when Michael has not chosen the room I thought was my best, and the last one I would have thought would make the cut got picked instead. He seems to look for innovation, new ideas & things that haven’t been tried before, or things done in an original way. Also, there have been times when a room I sent in was shown many, many months later, to the point where I’d forgotten I sent it, so you just never know! I hope you guys don’t give up & do keep sending them in. I had the same conversation with a friend about a year ago, they had been sending in their rooms for a long time & were getting frustrated with waiting, but they kept sending Michael their designs & have now had several really cool ones shown on the podcasts. Persistence pays off, don’t give up!
Well, Michael may not always choose the rooms that you thought would have been picked, but I don’t think I’ve never seen a room design done by you that I haven’t liked. :)

Dear Fiona, Can you maybe consider changing the dock back like it used to be? This new version is very frustrating.
I agree Bubbashuka. So very tired of having massive changes shoved upon us that few like and seemingly very little consideration of customer opinions and likes taken into account. I find myself asking myself, why I am continuing with my subscription after 8 or 9 years. :-(
I agree, Davids1lilpixie! Me neither, obvsaprincess! Yeah, kittymade10! I don’t know if ANYONE is happy with this. Webkinz/ganz needs to stop updating, and focus on the things that DON’T WORK.

I agree, I don’t always remember the proper names of items so having them listed alphabetically in the dock doesn’t work well for me, either! I preferred it when they were grouped by category!!
Yep, it is not only frustrating, but maybe they did it this way to keep on logged on. Since it nearly impossible to find anything, I just don’t deal with it and therefore spend even less time.
I can’t stand the new version! It’s annoying and very unhelpful. I don’t know where anything is anymore!!!
Agreed, kittymade10. Room design now takes longer & is less fun when everything in room decorations is mixed together. Please bring back the old filing system or a better one. This does not work.

I have a question … well … I have 6 webkinz plush toys but have bought them a long time ago and at that time I did not know those codes meant .My mother threw the codes, and now, when I know what these codes mean, I’d like to use them but I can not.What can I do?The toys are: American Golden Retriver ,Rabbit (HM076),Pink pony (HM117),Caramel lion (HM175) ,Beagle (HM141) ,Yellow Lab (HM153)…Thank you for your patience! You are just going to have to give up and get some new ones–I had almost all the plush Webkinz that had been made but I was way slow on adopting them. Then just before Christmas, the house burnt taking all my Webbies up in smoke. I have started over with the new ones and adding a few virtual along the way. But it hurts that some of my all time favorites are gone and I can’t afford the Signatures. The Pink Pony was my first Webbie that I really liked and she is gone too. Just try to be happy that you still have the plush and get a new one or two. You can get new plushies from the estore and adopt them immediately. Having them online is better than not having them at all. ♥♥♥foxpaws♥♥♥

I don’t think so; if you sell it that means you don’t want it (most of the time) and the item is gone.
I wish we could too! I have sold stuff by accident that I didnt intend to sell. Now I try to stop and take a good hard look and make sure it is stuff I intend to sell before I do hit the sell button.
I really don’t want stuff back, but if it was accidentally sold then I could see that happening maybe.
Ah, I feel your pain, cmsrockz.. I used to make rooms, mostly in hopes of getting featured, but ah, I gave up. There are people with much better ideas and items to create their ideas than me… =/ At times I’ll think I made a really cool room, but after many months of not getting featured, I don’t care too much to watch the room design videos anymore. But that’s probably just me though. Anywaayyy, wow! 700 pets is a lot! Oh and I think it would be cool if you could restart the Magic Mire charm collections. Then we could have a chance to get more than one of those really cool crowns!
Hi emiemiemiemi, and this is to answer supermanandbatman4 as well, do you guys have more than one account? Because if you do, you can do the whole Magical Forest over again & get another of both those forest crowns. I’m working on doing that right now, I want another crown for bridesmaids in my Webkinz Wedding room. When I complete the second time I’ll mail the crown to myself on my other account. (I actually do that quite a lot when I need multiples of things).

emiemi, and cmrockz—I think you should keep trying!! Definitely keep trying! Without even seeing any of your rooms, I’m certain they are awesome. maybe the new fall items and Kinzville Academy items will inspire each of you to start submitting again. My suggestion is, try not to make rooms with the hopes of getting them featured, but rather, make rooms that mean something to you, with items you really love. In that way, your true creative self will emerge. (everyone’s creative self is like a thumbprint—very very unique.) So give it another go, and I hope to see you both featured sometime soon!
That is extremely well put. animalsmatter1. The joy is in the process of creating the room you love. Though it’s fun to see your room featured on the Newz, the best part of room design is you get to keep the results in your house!
Eh, I mean.. I just kind of lost interest in making rooms, I guess. I try to make cool, unique rooms, but I don’t like to spend all of my Kinzcash to make something, nor do I have eStore points for the really specific items. Most of the time I’ll get an idea, but I don’t have the items for it. I just want the room I put so much time into making to be featured, cause it makes me feel like I’ve actually made something special. Something worth showing people. I mean, I also never really use the rooms I make. I can’t invite people over to show them my room. I often feel lazy to make any interesting rooms because it feels pointless. Being featured is like my only hope of my room having a use for it being there. But yes, I am definitely going to try and make something with those new fall items. They’re such nice items, I’m sure I’ll be able to get some sort of idea of how to use them. =]
Try submitting your rooms to the Share Center, then everybody will see them! I look at the Share Center more than those room design videos.
Hey emi! Yeah, I have a lot of rooms that need to be sent in, but I’m not sure if I should try anymore. I never really have a lot of time to do it, and yeah. You think 700 is a lot? someone I know has over a thousand. Yeah, I’m thinking the same with magic mire.
I say don’t give up. The reason I couldn’t do it is because the browse button wasn’t working but now it is so I sit in tons of room designs and hopefully soon I will be featured but the best thing to do is not to give up. :) They know that everyone’s voice should be heard, so…. #Believe
