Hey, it’s Salley Cat. I just heard about this really cool new challenge. It’s called the ‘Presidential Active Lifestyle Award’ or PALA. The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition wants to promote a healthy lifestyle by encouraging us all to get more active. To earn PALA kids have to engage in 60 minutes five to six days a week for six weeks. At first I thought that sounded like a lot, but when I thought about it, I play soccer a couple of times a week and go swimming with Stoogles once a week, not to mention running all over Kinzville with the ‘Kinz Crew all the time. I’ll bet you with a few small changes I could make it to 60 minutes easy. I’m gonna try!

I’m going to head over to the The President’s Challenge website at www.presidentschallenge.org and sign up right now.  They’ve even got downloadable PDFs to help me track my progress.

So whaddaya think? Wanna take the PALA Challenge with me?

    Yes! I will try it! After all exercise is good for you. I walk almost every day for a half hour and i jump on my trampoline for 15 minutes.. I am doing good!

    thats so cool i play soccer with my team 3 times a week for an hour and a half each day . im on swim team witch is an hour of swimming every day except sunday so im good!!!!!!

    IIIIII LLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEE WWWWWEEEEEBBBBKKKKKIIIIINNNNZ and i have soccer practice three times a week for at least 1 1/2 and then on the weekend i have games for an hour and i go running with my mom so i am GOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yeah, Amy, I’m Canadian too. Too bad we can’t enter it.
    I also notice that Canadian kids start school after Labour Day, but Americans start in August. And we end in June, they end in May. But I’m seriously dying for school lately. It’s all I want-I’m bored of the summer!

      Lol, yes, me too! I only excercised the first month and a half of summer, and I’ve lazed it down the rest of the months!! School for me is after Labor Day

    EASY!!!
    school starts next week and that means school and P.E. for 45 minutes five days a week and then just walking from class to class and other exercising i do.
