Hailey and Elwin decorate the Gym

Well readers, apparently not everyone appreciates Elwin’s and my fine efforts.

Earlier this week Ms. Cowoline asked us to decorate the gym for the Valentine’s Day Dance. Now you know that Elwin and I don’t do anything by halves. I mean, look at this gym. It is in need of some serious TLC to make the transition from boring gymnasium to Cupid’s Lair.

And here you have the results of our labors. We went all out – we covered the walls with the pink paneling and gigantic red hearts of the Heart Wallpaper. We brought in this heart-stopping Heart floor covering. We decided that it would be fun to make one corner of the gym into an amusement area with a Carnival Kissing Booth, True Love Crystal Ball, and True Love Test, as well as rides like the Love Puppy Float and Heart Hot Air Balloon. We loaded up a few tables with oodles of yummy Valentine treats like the Valentine Cupcakes and even an ice cream bar. And the most romantic touches were our centerpiece of the Cupid’s Shimmering Spring and the charming Romeo and Juliet Balcony Tower.

Perfect, right?

And ALMOST everyone agreed. Cowabelle and Roberta came in and said it was totally dreamy. But then Sparky and Alex came in. Sparky was NOT a fan. The first thing he said when he walked in was “Gross!” Then he said it looked like Cupid got sick in the gym, and he really hoped that someone cleaned it up before the dance.

HMPH. Roberta and Cowabelle said not to worry about Sparky – that he didn’t understand the meaning of true love, at which point Sparky rolled his eyes and stomped out of the gym. Then he came back in and asked Alex if he was coming, but Alex was just staring into the True Love Crystal Ball, as if he were mesmerized so Sparky stomped off again.

Just as he was walking out he turned and said to us all, “I may come to this dance, but if you think I’m going anywhere near that Kissing Booth, you’re kidding yourselves.” As soon as the door shut behind him Roberta, Cowabelle, Elwin and I started giggling. I mean, it was just a joke – we didn’t really expect the students at Kinzville Academy to use the Kissing Booth. Instead we stocked it up with a big box of chocolate kisses.

After a minute of us laughing Alex looked up then and just stared around like he had missed the whole thing. What is up with him?

Yay! This is the first room the elephants have done that I actually like all of it. Usually they put too many colors and styles in one room for it to be pleasing. I thought poor Alex had gotten over his rejection, but I guess he really is smitten! (I thought it was a passing crush) <3

Wall paper right over the stage. How did the accomplish this? LOL And then, where will they get the gym wall and flooring again AFTER Valentines day?
It is really not a gym anymore.

To quote from the beginning: “Well readers, apparently not everyone appreciates Elwin’s and my fine efforts.” Of course not everyone appreciates Hailey and Elwin’s “fine” efforts! They use WAY too much eStore furniture, the ideas trash the integrity of the old room, and the “I love it” response to their work seems robotic. The ONLY response to their work that seems legit was Fluffington hating on it back at Christmas. :D Ugh, GANZ is just promoting the eStore with these lame rooms. >:(
