Hailey and Elwin make over PJ Collie’s Basement apartment

Hey, it’s Elwin here. Our friend, PJ Collie had some really good news lately. The landlord of her basement apartment told her they were renovating the whole building and she could choose the new fixtures that she wanted. PJ had some KinzCash saved up too so she thought it would be the perfect excuse to get rid of her old mishmash of furniture and invest in some new pieces to go with the new look.

This is PJ’s place before. She really needs a better workspace in the kitchen, and her bedroom furniture is pretty, but in an open concept space she really needs to tie all the colors together better. I don’t think those pink pieces are working with the rest of the apartment. She also wants some more storage space and Hailey and I have a great idea on how to tie in extra closet space with a new bathroom enclosure that will be a little more private.

So here is the end result. PJ asked her landlord for the Pop Star Wallpaper and Flooring. For her kitchen she went with a Psychedelic Circles Counter island with a couple of Golden Trend Kitchen Stools, and an Avante Condo Counter flanked by a Good as Golden Stove and a Taste for Gold Fridge. She also showed her landlord our idea for built-in closets around the bathroom and he really liked it so he had those installed too, along with some Dance Studio Long Mirrors. Although we didn’t change the layout of the bathroom at all the final design was much more functional.

Once we had the bones of the room in place, we could start to add flair with furniture pieces. We drew a lot on the 70’s theme, the Golden theme and the Avant Condo theme because they picked up the orange in the wallpaper nicely. In our bedroom, we started with a Gold Standard Rug and then combined 70’s items like the Groovy Digs Dresser and the Copasetic Chair with pieces from the Spa Theme, like the Serenity Slumber Bed, the Gathered Under Glass Side Table and we blocked off the space with a few Solitude Dividers. We accessorized with a Pile of Persian Pillows. In the living room we laid down the Psychedelic Circles Rug and then mixed pieces like the Outta Sight Orbital Chair, the Sit On It Sofa, and the Avante Condo Modular Sofa. We shed some light on the subject with the Let’s Boogie Lamp and we thought that the Deep Jungle Television was a fun touch. And she has a workspace tucked behind the sofa with the Artist’s Desk.

PJ loves the look and we think it goes really well with her colorful personality.

    Hmm… I guess it’s Okay. Not the best, you can hardly walk around in it, it is so crowded with all her junk. Sorry, but just the more I read about Elwin and Hailey and Cowobelle the more I dislike them.

    Good job! Not a color scheme I could love everyday, but if PJ likes it, that is what is important. I would also rather NOT have clothes stored in the bathroom (too much steam, smells …) but as I said, if it works for PJ, that is what is important. And it is a good functional design while still being fun. Great job, once again! All the best! MDIChickadee

          • Kodiak...nice, but one problem says:

            I understand some of us like to remake rooms that the elephants design, not that most of us could since it is almost entirely estore, and what is the point of having a bathroom for your pet if they can’t even tell you if they need to use it?

          • sarahandlacey says:

            I agree Kodiak! My pet probably hasn’t used the bathroom for 6 months! Your friend sarahandlacey! :lol: :mrgreen: ;-) :-) :roll:

            Mine hasn’t, either!

            Ha that is so cool! I have the same wall paper and the same flooring as the second room. I like the orange color of it. I use that wallpaper and flooring for my “Rare Room”. :lol:

            I got my dog a yard and a tree. I thought that would be much more enjoyable for him than a classic bathroom. (And just as useful!)

          • SignatureBernese says:

            @Kodiak
            I agree. Its very uncreative since they used 99% Estore items. I don’t have estore and I really need my rooms redecorated. I would use these guys ideas but its estore :( I think they should create a room like this but with A LOT more Wshop items.

          • LemonCandy says:

            I counted and there are only 9 items from the Wshop in that room! All the rest is e store! ~LemonCandy

          • Chicago Made says:

            @Kodiak

            Agreed with you. Most of the room has estore items in it. Okay, it’s a cool room, but it’s not all that great once there are more estore items in it than W Shop items. Since when does that become great for everyone who is posting comments on here? I mean, it’s nothing all that exciting either, and they should’ve put more W Shop items in the room (The 2nd one). The 1st one isn’t all that bad. Well, since there are more W Shop items in the 1st room, it’s much better. And yes, Kodiak is right. What’s the whole point of having a bathroom for your pet if they can’t even tell you if they need to use it? :?: ~Chicago Made☠
