How do I use Skill Cards?

Check out this guide to one of the Kinzville Academy’s
coolest features!

We designed Skill Cards as a way for you to specialize each of your pets’ talents. You can collect Skill Cards to improve your pets’ abilities. The more points you apply to a pet, the higher their level will be and the more benefits they’ll receive.

Skill Cards

Skill Cards can be purchased at the Kinzville Academy with School Ribbons.

Each skill card grants BONUS abilities to specific pets while playing in Kinzville – from moving faster, to getting bonuses when Gem Mining, and more.  Be sure to purchase a Skill Card for the skill you’d most like your pet to excel in.

I wish they had this in Classic, or bring back the Tutor .

Using the mining skills card does not come in handy when you are trying to collect slag in the season challenges.

    • kalcan8 says:

I’ve noticed and commented the same thing. People told me to just switch pets to one who isn’t an “expert” miner. With slag though, it’s kind of hit or miss and just seems to require patience. It’s funny that while I’m normally thrilled to get a hopeful diamond, during season challenges I’m conflicted!

As cool as this is, only being able to get up to 5% of a skill doesn’t really make it sound worth it.

Could you produce a post listing the bonuses for all the skill cards. The information given in the skill shop is very hard to understand. I have sewing but had no idea you might get materials back. Mining twice is the best with extra money for negotiation being helpful. Not so sure about speed.

    • crystalfawns53 says:

I really wish that they can do this too! I have maxed out all of the skills, but I forgot to record down the bonuses associated with each level of the skill. But for the negotiating skill, the bonus for the max level is that items sell for 10% more in the Wshop, 5% more in the Curio Shop (which probably applies to the gems that you can choose to sell to Amanda Panda or keep), and 3% more to Farmer Will. For the mining skill, I unfortunately do not have the full breakdown of the skill, but the odds of getting rare and uncommon gems are increased. At the current max level, you can go mining an additional time each day, with the previous levels of the bonus stacked on top of that. For the speed skill, your pet has 10% faster movement and a 3% speed boost in Glideheart and Antmania at max level of the speed skill. With each pet only being able to hold three skills each, I paired negotiation with mining because those bonuses complement each other extremely well. For the speed skill, I haven’t really noticed any difference when moving in Kinzville or when playing competition events like the Cake Cook-off and Fantastic Flower against other players. I noticed that my pets without the speed skill moved about as fast as my pet that had the speed skill maxed.

mrmic5, The recipe for the pink pants and others will show up in the sewing machine after you have earned the level needed. Sally Webkinz it sure would be nice if my pet skill levels showed up on the choose a pet screen that shows the special features and adoption certificate. I always want to see which pet has highest level negotion skills before selling items at the WShop.

How many times can you make the clothing items?

    • crystalfawns53 says:

You can make them as many times as you like to. Once you reach a specific sewing skill level, you will be able to see the recipe on the sewing machine as long as you have the pet with the sewing skill equipped as your main pet. The clothing items made from the sewing skill exclusive recipes are also tradeable with the first unlocked clothing made from the recipe being a kinzcash low value item and the second and third unlocked clothing made from the recipes being a prize low value item.

This a great article. All my pets have the sewing card. I had made many items already . In your second task. It says to go to the wish box to get the recipe for pink pants.. I never nor had seen that item at the wishing booth. Please explain how to get the pink pants to make it. Ty ganz

    • crystalfawns53 says:

Hi mrmic5! I was able to make the pink pants and clothing recipes exclusive to the sewing skill by putting the pet with the sewing skill as my main pet and taking them to the sewing machine (which can be bought from the Wshop). The clothing recipes can only be seen if you put a pet with a specific level of the sewing skill as your main pet. If you equip any pets without the sewing skill or with a sewing skill that isn’t high enough, you will not be able to see the recipe unlocked at a specific sewing skill level. You do not need to go to the wish factory to purchase the recipe; you will be able to see the recipe immediately after leveling up your pet’s sewing skill. I really hope that this helps and I wish you all the best in making the sewing skill exclusive recipes!

Hi Crystalfawns53, I have a sewing table. I bought level 5 card sewing skills for all my pets. I have made that gown over many time with different pets. I still haven’t seen the pink pant recipe appear on my sewing board. What am I doing wrong . : (. What do I have to do to make it appear on my board. Ty ty

        • sally says:

It sounds like you’ve purchased 5 point cards for all of your pets, not raised each one to level 5. 5 points will get your pet to level 2 sewing. You’ll need another 10 points to unlock level 3, which is what unlocks the pink jeans recipe.

          • mrmic5 says:

I bought 5 card per pet.. cause I needed help to open the pink pants. I made so many of the gown n other recipes that already came with the sewing board and other recipes I purchased at the wish stand. It hasn’t appeared. I don’t have a computer. Just a phone. How do I earn 10 more points . Some of the recipes on the board I made n I didn’t want it. But I did it and still doesn’t appear. what and how can I make it appear ty sally for helping me

          • sally says:

You have to buy two more 5 point sewing cards and apply it to the same pet that already has level 2 unlocked. It will then unlock level 3, which adds the recipe to your sewing machine automatically when you use it with that pet.
