i cant wait til theres a mac version so i can try it :) i love games where u can decorate a house and to have 2 webkinz now is so great! I am also super excited to see if they do prizes that connect the different games like how webkinz news can give prizes to webkinz

Birdfolks, this is a second, 3D version of Webkinz. It will now be called “Webkinz.” The version we play now is “Webkinz Classic.” You can choose to download the new game and play it by logging on with your current Webkinz username and password. You will be taken to the adoption center and you can adopt a cat, a husky, or a Yorkshire terrier (looks more like a Border terrier to me). You then get a unique username you choose via a mix and match generator. Then your new pet can play in the new Webkinz area. I agree that that post was rather confusing.
Webkinz seems rather new to computer graphics. I’ll be over here with the old formula unless these pets get a lot of perfecting.
Of course my family has a PC that runs on Microsoft – and that’s the one thing the Webkinz people don’t have yet. I don’t have a choice or a chance.
Guys, please read the whole thing before commenting. They’re not getting rid of the original Webkinz. It’s not going away, nor is it going away because of Flash. It’s still going to continue. I just hope that it doesn’t end up like how the creators of Animal Jam basically left their “classic” game in the dust after promising new content. I don’t want to see the new Webkinz getting all of the glory and novelty. Frankly I’m not a big fan of the looks of the new Webkinz but I do appreciate the effort Ganz is putting into it. They have a very small amount of staff so releasing a completely new game within 2 years is pretty impressive. Despite that I’m still only going to be sticking with the original. I sure do hope both games will get plush pets once they return.
Hope we can still play the classic one we are playing now. I know it took a lot of work to redesign WW but I really do not like the new look at all! It looks childish enough to be something you’d see on Tree House channel.

I don’t know if I should spend any more money in the Estore if they are just going to get rid of the REAL webkinz.
They aren’t talking about getting rid of anything. They have stated the REAL Webkinz, now will be Webkinz Classic and nothing will change beyond that. As long as everyone stays interested and engaged in Webkinz Classic, there will be no worries. So continue to do exactly as you’ve always done, no problem.
Our family has too much invested in Webkinz Classic to ever give up on it. Hopefully they will continue to improve upon the desktop version. Our family will probably play the new Webkinz, but it will certainly not replace the Classic. What I wonder is what will happen at Webkinz Newz, will it now serve the needs of both games, or will the new game get its own site for news?
Just because they say they aren’t getting rid of Classic Webkinz doesn’t mean they aren’t headed in that direction. Why build this new one instead of invest in the old one?
Totally agree. For those of us who are of advanced years this doesn’t look appealing. I appreciate that Webkinz intention is to provide children with a safe platform to play with pets, but children don’t usually have any money or at least not the kind of amounts Webkinz needs to keep going and pay the staff, so it needs also to be agreeable to the older members. It seems to me that most of the players are either teens, at college, parents or retired. I’m sticking to the old way for as long as I can. I have no grandchildren, so I’d prefer to stick with my pets as they are.
Not a fan of 3D either. I’ll stick with Webkinz Classic. Happy for all of you who are excited about the new site. Have fun.
