Each day during the countdown to Webkinz Day, we will introduce you to four of the finalists in our search for the ‘Greatest Webkinz’.
It was a monumental task – trying to narrow down the list to just 32 pets. There was plenty of debate and discussion before we could decide on our finalists. We’re willing to bet that there will be plenty of discussion among our members about the pets we ended up with as well!
So without further ado, meet the first four pets on our list!
Chihuahua
Get ready for the classic Chihuahua! A champion of cuteness, this treasured pup is owned by many and loved by all.
Snowy Owl
The only bird to make our list of candidates had to be magnificent, and the Snowy Owl definitely fits the bill. You’d be wise to bet on this striking pet, with its cool white feathers and piercing eyes.
Winged Tiger
One of the most popular virtual pets ever, the Winged Tiger is quite the majestic sight as it glides through the air! A fantastical personality and electric blue coat give this pet an airborne advantage over its competition.
Whimsy Dragon
The fact that this was our very first Dragon makes it extra special. When this pretty pink pet landed in Webkinz World, it marked a magical beginning for some of our favorite pets to come.
Yay! The snowy owl is one of the finalists!!!!!!!! I love the snowy owl!

Wow, all four of these pets are amazing, but, personally, out of these four, I’d like to see either the Chihuahua or the Whimsy Dragon make it (if they don’t make it, I’d really like to see the owl win out of these four. It’s not that I don’t like the tiger, it’s just that, in my opinion, I’d like to see a plush pet win, and the tiger is a virtual. But, it’s still early in the competition). Still, I really like all four of these pets! #GoWhimsyDragon #GoChihuahua

I love the Owl. . . I have always wanted it. but I have the Chihuahua so if either one of those win it would be fine with me! yeah I think it would be better if a plush won.
Same here :) First Whimsy Dragon for me I really dont fell like the tiger should win because It’s not a plush and I feel like webkinz is more about plushies so it would only make sense a plushie wins :) The owl is cute too but I don’t have it so It’s not really that special to me so I cant say It’s my favorite of all the Webkinz Ganz made to be completely honest, but I can’t wait for voting this will be lots of fun I’m sure!
I agree! I really think that a plush should win, since, well, Webkinz is about adopting plush pets! The tiger and owl are great pets, but I’m not sure if those would be the greatest Webkinz. The tiger is a virtual, and it’s cute, but I would rather see a plush win. I really like the owl, but, I guess I’d rather have an older pet win. ;)
Same here! I feel like the other two are too new to be of much significance, although they are pretty good pets. I’m personally voting for the Whimsy Dragon to be the face of Webkinz, as it represents what Webkinz is at its core; imaginative, whimsical, friendly, and of course cuddly!
That’s exactly how I feel! The owl and the tiger are really neat, but I honestly think the award should go to a pet that’s been here for almost 10 years. Also, I agree with what you said about the whimsy dragon. The more I think about it, the more I realize that it does represent a lot of what Webkinz is. I’m still not sure which pet I’ll be voting for, but the whimsy dragon is on the list of possibilities for me.

The Wimsey Dragon was the first Webkinz pet I HAD to have more than one of. So I have twins, Whimsel and Molly, and later I got two more from the eStore for my all-dragons account. They have the same names. They’re supposed to be the same dragons, like there’s a portal between my main account and the dragon lands. : )

Hey! I have a Chihuahua in my account and I’ll have you know she’s quite the lady. Total fashionista and very friendly. Her fave hat is the big fruit thing. She likes to pretend she’s Chiquita Banana. And she wants everyone to VOTE CHAHUAHUA!!!!!! ;) love to all!

I think the Chihuahua is a very cute pet :) I don’t personally have one but my brother does and his is named Poco :D Although the Whimsy Dragon comes before the Chihuahua for me so I’m hoping ppl will plz remember our very first Dragon webkinz come voting time!

Ok guys, please, we are all fighting. This is a bit ridiculous. Chihuahuas are cute on Webkinz, but they are yappers in real life sometime. So what? Some like them, some don’t! So my9tailkinz, it’s just people’s opinion, so don’t worry if they hate Chihuahuas. For the rest of you, I would just like to see less harsh opinions on how Chihuahuas are the “lamest pet ever” or how you “have us know” they are quite nice pets. So please, on a nice note, let’s not fight. Personally, so far, I vote Winged Tiger for best on looks, Whimsy Dragon for best on significance. Thank you, not trying to be rude, but you guys are fighting over nothing. And we shouldn’t do that.

Everyone here has to remember that they are dealing with real people not just words on a computer screen and people have feelings. and everyone’s feelings matter. everyone can have their own opinions but that doesn’t mean it is right to hurt people over little things.
claps claps for ArtMagician :) defiently true, during the mayor election I felt like a lot of friendships were strained just for the silly reason of different opionions, so I defiently don’t want that to happen again especally over something as silly as this :) I like Chihuahuas and can’t say I agree with ppl who say they’re “lame” but we are talking about pixels here so yeah bravo for ArtMagician’s speech :)

I only KIND OF like the Winged Tiger, but that is an eStore pet and I didn’t want an eStore pet to win. I easily predict that the Snowy Owl will win this though, since it is a favorite of many others.

Online chihuahuas are cute but in reality the chihuahuas i have encountered give vicious little bites and yap at everything and I mean EVERYTHING!
They’re guard dogs, and they are pretty much a one-person dog. They can be aggressive towards everyone else, because that is what they were bred for. It makes it hard to make friends with someone else’s chihuahua, though. But if it’s your family’s dog, you have a loyal protector for life!
Well put ImaPepper. I think people forget that they are hunters. Specifically rat hunters so they have to be quick and aggressive.
I have had three real Chihuahua’s in my life and none have ever bitten anyone. I will agree that they yap a lot, but that is because they are very protective little dogs. As tiny as they are, they are great little watch dogs because they will yap when anyone comes near the house. With proper training, you can get them to not yap as often, as I have done. They are extremely loyal and very loving to their owners. But they do get a bad rap because they do yap. My little Chihuahua only yaps now to let me know if someone is around who shouldn’t be.
I know exactly what you mean! I once heard that in some neighborhoods there wer packs of wild chihuahuas chasing kids walking to school!
I agree. They’re always shaking and sniveling like they’re either freezing to death or scared of everything, including their own shadow. They also have razor sharp needle teeth. I do, however, like the Webkinz Chihuahuas.
my Chuiwawa does not do that. She is very cute, kind and never bites. She only yaps at the door when the doorbell rings. She’s a female.

I had no idea that it was the first of the dragons! I remember when my oldest daughter and I were scrambling so hard to find one and when we got ours I was able to get another one for my youngest daughter. :)

I think Ganz will pick the finalists, and then we will vote. These are the first four finalists. I think they picked pretty well, but it’s so hard to choose. I really hope that the Tigerlily Pup makes it, because it was designed by a fan. However, so many others could earn the title….but it has to have significance beyond how it looks in my opinion.
Well, I think there are so many pets better than these four. I can’t believe it, not a single Signature?! Yeah, I doubt I’ll be voting. We hardly have any choice at all as to which pet is picked. It’s mostly up to GANZ, it’s more like we’re voting on which one of their favorites is the best. But I still like the Timber Wolf better than these. And based on their obscene prices, I’m guessing a lot of people feel the same way. I guess of these four, I probably like the Snowy Owl or the Whimsy Dragon the best.

Voting dosn’t start till April 29, these were just the top for pets picked workers at Ganz :) Also I have the Whimsy Dragon too and mine is named Shimmer also :) all these pets are very cute so it will be hard to decide from the classic, well known, and adorable Chihuahua, to the Beautiful, feathered, magnificent Snowy Owl, to the Furry, Enchanting, and fuzzy tiger, and last but not least the friendly, magical, huggable Whimsy Dragon :)

what? None of these pets would have been my vote. I like the detail in th snowy owl though, and the whimsy dragon…well, it’s a dragon! :) I’m voting for it. The winged tiger is a virtual only pet so I won’t vote for that, and to me the Chihuahua doesn’t do much for me.
