Hey, it’s me again. You know what else is cool about Pelicans? Pelicans can be found in lots of different parts of the world but always by water. We are great swimmers – we have webbed toes like a duck. And like most birds we have a preen gland which secretes oil. We rub our heads on our preen gland to release the oil and then we use our head and beak to spread the oil across our bodies. This makes our feathers waterproof. Have you ever heard the saying ‘Like water off a duck’s back’? Well, personally, I think it should be ‘Like water off a PELICAN’s back.’

Omg, in my science book, there was a picture of a pelican with its beak full, it looks so weird! especially because the bill is all stretched out, so you can see the fish.
