Cocker spaniels were originally bred as bird dogs, mainly hunting grouse, pheasant, and woodcock, which is where the name “cocker” comes from. So i would probably name my cocker Woodcock. Or i would name it Brucie after the famous black cocker who was Best In Show at the Westminster Kennel Club’s show in 1940 and 1941. Sorry, I’m a dog person ;) Some other ideas are: Moonbeam, Ashes, Curly, Starlight, Riley, Dew-point, Cyclone, Autumn, Mercury, and Coals, and Rowdy because my neighbors have a black cocker named Rowdy.
Okay, I’ve got some more random ideas now ;D how about: Panama, Sapphire, Satin, Ralph, Mistie, Night Fog, Dewdrop, Ruffles, Liberty, Rusty, Justice, Faith, Rocky, Roxy, Thistle, Wisteria, Naomi, Hunter, Colby, Sandy, and Luke.

I would name it: Black Licorice, Shadow, Midnight, Onyx, Ebony, Blackie, Bo, Moonshine, Moonlight, Magic, Midnight Kiss, Luna, Eclipse, Rose, Elle, Bruno, Euka, Oreo, Cookie, Chocolate Chip, Brown Eyes, Curly, Callie….I will have to think of more later! :) Is there a limit on how many names we can suggest?

I would name it Onyx for a boy or Ebony for a girl … I like names that have something to do with the type of animal or its color :)
Oooh, Graphite would be a fun name too!
I would name this dog Mr Blackberry Sorbet I think.
