Chapter 2 – Finding the Lost Spirit

The chilly air hit Plumpy’s nose and she pulled her scarf a little tighter.
“Time to find out who lost their Christmas spirit and help them find it!” Plumpy strode down the street, making sure to smile at everyone she passed. Most Webkinz smiled back. When she passed Ms. Birdy, though, Plumpy’s smile wasn’t returned.
“Ms. Birdy!” Plumpy said, stopping. “What’s wrong? Have you lost your Christmas spirit?”
Ms. Birdy looked puzzled. “Not my Christmas spirit,” Ms. Birdy said, confused. “Just my W Shop coupon. I dropped it somewhere. I’m a little disappointed.” Plumpy was glad that Ms. Birdy still had the Christmas spirit…but she didn’t like seeing her upset.
“Here,” Plumpy said, opening her wallet. “Take mine!” She handed Ms. Birdy her coupon.
“Thank you, Plumpy!” Ms. Birdy smiled.
“Merry Christmas!” Plumpy called.
She kept looking for sad faces in the crowd. “One of you has lost your spirit, and I’m going to help you find it,” Plumpy vowed, scanning faces. She was so busy looking that she bumped right into Inukshuk. She noticed he didn’t look too happy.
“Inukshuk, what’s wrong? Have you lost something? Maybe your Christmas spirit?”
Inukshuk shook his head, “No, just my scarf. I’m freezing!”
Plumpy couldn’t bear seeing Inukshuk so cold. She pulled off her scarf and handed it to him. Her nose twitched in the freezing air.
“Wow, thanks Plumpy!” Inukshuk grinned.
“No problem,” Plumpy said, her teeth chattering.
“Just trying to spread some Christmas cheer.”
