Road Trip Recipe: Cheese Straws

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What you need:

-          2 cups flour

-          2 cups old Cheddar cheese, grated

-          3/4 cup butter, softened

-          1 teaspoon baking powder

-          1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

-          1/2 teaspoon salt

-          1/2 cup water

-          an adult assistant

What you do:

Preheat oven to 400°. Grease a baking sheet.

Add all ingredients EXCEPT water to a large bowl. Slowly mix in water, a little at a time until the mixture sticks together to form a dough. Roll out dough on a floured surface to about ¼” thickness. Cut into strips about ¼” thick and then cut into 4” lengths. Place on baking sheet and bake for about 5 minutes until golden brown.

    Not a fan of cheesy chips and stuff. Love Goldfish and Cheeze Its…but not cheese chips and Cheetos and stuff like that. :D But that’s just me! If it was potato straws I would be all over it! >^..^< Stealthstorm
